How much WoW gold would I need to spend for maxed gear on a rouge?

I've never played WoW but I want to, the only problem is I don't want to be a noob, so how much would it cost for me to get maxed gear on the rouge I'm going to make?
300k gold? 500k gold?

Well, first you'd have to get one to 85, and have chosen what spec you were going to be, etc.

 

Exactly as the poster above me said. Also you would need to still do some Heroics/Raids because you cant buy a full set.

 

If you were doing Heroics, you should do Cataclysm Heroics, as it's so much easier to get gear from it.

 

First off, Rogue. Second off if you were to buy what gear you could it might cost you around 40k and thats just for legs and bracers. You can't "buy" the best gear you have to raid and kill bosses for it

 

Ok, so there's no basic guideline, like with a certain spec it would cost 500k for the best gear that gold can buy and another spec it would be 400k so it would be around 450k for the best set gold can buy + you'd have to do a month of raids for decent gear?

 

as a rogue you really only need one set as a rogue is pure dps, if your at maxed level I suggest you use http://www.wowbestinslot.com/rogue to figure out what your best in slot gear is for a lot of it your best in slot will be heroics but clicking each piece of gear will bring up a list of the 397s available as well. For the most part the only 397 items you can buy at the moment are: Bracers, boots, legs, and belts, which will at most run you up about 60k if that. Most of your best in slots are earned from raiding and valor points though.

 

Bracers and boots will run you about 5k each at max. You can get a set of daggers for 10k that will eventually turn into the legendary one's if you follow the quest chain.

Unless you can get the belt for under 7k I would personally skip it, along with the pants.

Put aside 10k for enchants and 10k for gems and whatnot and you should be set with about 50k (Leaves room to buy newer gear, enchant replacements etc.)

 

I have a rogue but i went Pvp not Pve, but at first you can get bracers and boots for gold once you get to 85, if your going pve of course.

Also you can get weapons but they are really only gonna be temporary blades. Really the only thing your going to be spending gold on is enchants and gems, so really your barley gonna need like 50k gold, if even that to get you set up.

As far as spec, your really gonna need to do some research on this to get it correct. There are many builds out there but i suggest you look on youtube or look in-game for pve rogues then look them up on the armory. Spec makes all the difference for dps output and the way you use your abilities, for example i changed 2 abilities i was using on my druid for pve, and i went from 6k dps to 12k.

If your looking to be a good rogue for either pvp or pve you really really need to do a lot of research to be a good rogue.

Spend 2-5k for the crafted blue PVP gear or grind honor this coming weekend (AV weekend) and get yourself some epic PVP set, queue for the Hour of Twilight heroics. If you are planning to buy that blue PVP set, you can just hold it in your inventory for item level to queue for the 5man and sell it back later.

Then run LFR every week for raid finder gear. If you can bribe or pug your way into a normal/heroic Dragon Soul for a Hagara pickpocket, you can get some 397 weapons for 10k gold from the quest line.

 

I'm going PvP btw guys, idk if it seemed like I was going pve because I was looking to buy gear, but I'm going PvP.

One last question, well one or two.

At lvl 85 is the alliance or the horde better at warsong gulch? I know at lvl 19 the horde eats alliance apart every time.

Nvm on the second question I'll just do research to find out my 2 two specialization choices for PvP.

 

This depends, really horde and ally go back at it but i seem to win a lot going horde. I got full Pvp set in a weekend (Not blades) by just power farming honor. It was easy and fun, but warsong gulch like i said it just depends who is playing during the time your playing.

 

To grind out honor it's best to do random bgs or call to arms as you get bonus honor points from them, warsong is fun but random bgs are more rewarding and help you get geared a lot quicker.

 

With about 60k you can easily buy everything you need(pve), you'll be raiding for most of it anyway. Pvp is basically free, just effort doing bgs.

If you're not going to be a raider at all, you might have to pay a guild or raid team to let you do part of the legendary quest for the daggers.(daggers also cost 10k)

it's almost inevitable to be a noob, you need to do some research and like others said, do cata heroics to get some base gear, and try to work your way up to that 373 item level so you can do LFR and make an attempt at getting the 384s. Then watch tutorial vids and try to get into a Guild or get into a Firelands/Dragon soul raid. depending on the realm.

and as for pvp, at level 19 horde wins most of the time, but as you level up it evens out, and then on weekends for call to arms all of the weekend pvpers come on for alliance, so horde wins most of them.

 

This isn't runescape, you hardly have to buy gear if you just play the game.

 

you dont need gold to buy gear is earned by doing Hc- Normal Dungeons Raids Arena Bg gear can be obtained by useing honor points justice points conquest point valor points there is peopels With blacksmithing that can make you gear but that may cost you alot because its expensiv but thats up to you so basicly dont use gold on gear when gear can be obtained fast by doing dungeons You only Need gold to gem & enchant your gear
