    Hitler and the Hypothetical

So if you met Hitler's mother and she was pregnant with Hitler and your only options were to kill an innocent woman or allow her live and never have such an opportunity again... which would you choose?

    Hitler and the Hypothetical

Seeing as Hitler pioneered genetic science and The Genome Project, I would choose not to fuck with the past.

That, and I wouldn't be alive. So I'd leave her alone.

The butterfly effect. Killing him could cause something much worse and perhaps would given the state of the world after WWI.

Hm i would talk to her explain what happened in the future, but wait..the mother could give him love when he was a child, but i guess people already born bad..with bad instincts, but maybe i wouldn't talk to her, because of the same reason that Suf said..it could be worse change the history, it could be even worst, and the life as we know on the present would be very different.

I'd just let it go.. What he doesn't affect my life any differently than it would affect anyone else's at this time..

Not to mention the fact that he was a genius.

Sob story please...be seriously Jews where not the only ones that were killed. Also Jews still have the culture/people/heritage if anything you get unneeded sympathy from people now. Your parents were in there so I'm sure your just fine.

    Protip: Jesus was a Jew.

I'd let her live. You don't know what the child will grow up to do and killing her embraces the exact same mindset that made the holocaust possible in the first place. Human beings no longer become individuals to be treated with respect and dignity, but numbers on paper to be engaged in a calculus of death.

Considering the economy after WWI, Germany would have defaulted long ago and we would probably be stuck in something along the lines of steampunk. Starting with the fact that computers won't exist, I won't exist, and Sythe won't exist, I will have to say that it is a necessary sacrifice to just let it go.

And being a jew, I would have to say, as opposed to
That the only reason I exist is that Hitler forced my grandparents/great grandparents to leave. Without Hitler, they would have never met and I would never have existed.

Id say use all that negative energy and turn it into positive energy.
And as far as him bieng a genius im pretty sure the doctors and scientists working for him pioneered genetic engineering not him. He funded it so he does deserve credit but he did no actual research and chances are he wouldnt even br able to interpret thr data that the studies found out...

Considering that this is impossible because of the Novikov Self-consistency principle then this wouldn't happen.

And no I wouldn't. Germany under Hitler's power initiated many programs that we take for granted today. Rocket Science? Yeah thank Nazis. Major freeways and highways? Thank Nazis. German engineering? Thank Nazis. (Yeah, that's you VW.)

    This sounds antisemitic.

    Hitler and the Hypothetical

Interesting replies and I would have to say I'd let him go even though millions of lives would be lost its better than an unknown/possibly worse future than the moderately nice present we are living in. (save for the screwed up economy)

The vast majority of holocaust victims were jews. 6 Million were killed. We lost art/musicians/rabbis/philosophers/synagogues and also a language (yiddish).
Hah! Yeah, you got me. I'm a jesus killer. Oh wait, jesus was a jew. Even though that was 2,000 years ago, I'm sure my grandparents were directly involved in it.
Genetic engineering goes back to mendel. Hitler wasn't some huge academic. He just thought aryans were the master race and wanted to quantify his bigotry though science.

Yiddish is still a language, it is just not anyone's mother tongue. Also this isn't correct. Gregor Mendel was the father of modern Genetics but not Genetic engineering. Hitler really spurred the research into Genetics and Genetic engineering when trying to father the master race.

I'm going to say not mess with the past, cause it can alter WAY too much. And eventually we would of had a large scale genocide either way

    Hitler and the Hypothetical

Whether or not a person supports what Hitler did, altering the past would have drastic (most likely negative) consequences for the present. It's not like WWII would have been avoided or there would not have been any sort of atrocities comparable to the Holocaust. The butterfly effect would most likely cause something far worse to happen, like nuclear war or something.
