Inappropriate Signatures

If we can't have a stricter censorship, I suggest a "Hide Signature" feature to be added after the upgrade to vb4 if at all possible. I have no idea how this would be accomplished, but I'd imagine it would work much like the ignore function does, but instead of saying "This message is hidden because [user] is on your ignore list." etc., it would say "This signature is hidden because [user] is on your Hide Signature list.", and you could still see the post contents.

The reason I suggest a whole separate feature is people may still be friends with those who have offensive signatures, and still want to interact with them on the forum.

 

You can always view sythe on mobile mode.

Nonetheless, I personally think, if it's not considered pornographic, then it's acceptable, trust me, I know my boundaries, but there's no need for "younger" members to get butt-hurt over a female in a sig and try to make it against the rules and too take away a members freedom of speech, we're all mature here, and if you're not, who's fault is that?

 

You're entirely missing 99% of the conversation. Yes, your signature is annoying to people who are too immature to stand a bit of grotesque images, but it's also hazardous to those who access sythe in public places-- college, work, in front of the family, etc.

Hazardous, in what way? To your eyes? When you're at college, are you there to work, or there to Sythe? Same applies for work, are you there to work, or there to Sythe? This is a Black-Market, let's not over think this, TOO much.

 

Hazardous by means of getting fired for the possibility of scrolling past the questionable images as your boss walks by. By means of doing so and losing permission to use computers on campus. By means of younger users losing permission to use computers because their parents disapprove.

I understand you should be on task and school and work, but my job (and, for example, FireZ's job-- someone who needs to be on sythe often) allows for time to be spent playing on the computer. My college schedule allows for time to be spent playing on the computer. I hope you're getting the picture.

 

I get what you're saying, I will admit that my sig can come off as a bit "vulgar" too younger members, and possibly too the pruder ones, but asking to prohibit the use of females or whatever the case might be in this situation from signatures, is just incomprehensible, and a bit arrogant in my eyes.
Like I said before, from my perspective, unless it's considered actual pornography, I don't see who it's really hurting in the long run. I hope you're getting my picture.

 

I'm not getting your picture because you seem to think that since we can't see a vagina, it can't bring harm to users. I can tell you now, if MY boss saw your signature, I'd get fired. I'd call that harm.

That's almost exactly what I think, theirs no vagina, butt-hole, or tits showing/involved, so that just leaves butt, thighs, back, and hair, and I'm pretty sure whichever gender you may be, we all have a butt, a pair of thighs, a vertebrate, and hopefully a head full of hair, and I fail to see who's being harmed from that.

Nonetheless, who's fault would it be for dropping the ball their? You should probably be more sneaky in the first place and not let your boss see you doing what you're not supposed to be doing, and better yet, you should be doing your job to begin with.

Tbh the best solution is just to block the user above.

 

It's unfair that people should have to remove something from their signature just because you don't want it to be seen on your computer at school. Be mature and deal with it. There's nothing stopping you from just blocking the person with the 'innapropriate' signature.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really mind an attractive girl on my screen..

 

<3_'s signature isn't pornography but its innapropriate and could get people who use Sythe at work or college in serious trouble.

 

Glad too see someone's mature enough to view things from an open perspective, and too realize that I'm (and other members) aren't hurting anyone.

Like I simply stated before, who dropped the ball their by not doing what their supposed to in the first place, two wrongs don't make a right.

My last signature included 2 Gifs. One was a banned sprite advert, the other was a girl sucking a cucumber, both of these would constitute as 'soft core porn' Even for example Blupigs signature of that guy sliding on a slide could be considered soft core, as it could turn someone on.

 

When I was reading people complaining about getting in trouble in college or at work this was what I was thinking. If you're at work or at college you aren't there to Sythe, you are there to work so the signatures shouldn't even come into play there. People have a right to express themselves as long as it is within the boundaries of the rules. If we stop letting images such as <3's what will be next? Not allowing people curse on the forums because it could get you fired or kicked out of school? Truthfully there are worse things on TV then some chicks butt. We are on the internet, morality doesn't come into play here.

 

Simple solution, block the idiots who have them as signatures.

And if we want to talk about maturity levels, I'm pretty sure the immature ones are those who have to explicitly show off their heterosexual tendencies with such images.

My standpoint is that Sythe.Org should always be a safe for work environment.

 

I too would like to see Sythe signatures a bit 'cleaner'.
