    A wonderful idea

Perhaps use some of the donation cash and pay a couple of the better programmers etc. to build a low quality version of a screen recorder that goes directly to a database for review and then have a copy for said person be able to be saved to their desktop for reference if needed inplace of the current terrible system sythe has for reporting scammers.

The reason to be honestly it's quite easy to fake pictures it just takes time and patience and takes literally no skill you just need something like photoshop and a bit of time on ur hands.
Also people almost never use real pics for chat logs due to lack of knowledge and visibility [if it isn't in their face chances are they aren't going to read it]

    Pros:
    1. much less scamming
    2. quicker trades [ less info you need to collect]
    3. Much clearer on if someone scammed or not
    4. Much quicker for mods\admins to make a decision and ban said scammer which also leads to less people getting scammed as most scammers will get a few deals setup before they commit their deed.
    5. Less ban disputes that need to be discussed which take up a great deal of time for mods.

    Cons:
    1. funding for the program
    1. funding for the database

-So everyone else see's this I added this here:
You can make a 5 minute video that is easily legible for trades and it only be about 10-20mb ea.

Also this wouldn't be for successful trades, it would only be for proof that someone got scammed, they can simply have a button and then a are you sure precaution to submit, and anyone abusing would be banned or what ever action sythe feels is reasonable obviously.

You would have to have a huge database to store all of it, and I mean absolutely huge. Do you even know how many trades go through here daily? If one was to record them all it would take way too much space. It is a members duty to make sure they are aware and to not get scammed, it isn't sythe's duty. If people are going to be stupid and not go through the correct procedures then they deserve to be scammed. It isn't that hard to ask for a PM, take screenshots/record a trade with one of the many free screen recorders, and post proof.

If you are experienced in photoshop it isn't hard to pick out fraudulent pictures.

    This will never happen.

I agree with Nero. It's impractical.
But thanks for the suggestion-- I know you had the best intentions :)

actually by law in the united states I'm not 100% sure on the exact amount needed but if enough is scammed in a single trade on sythe, the owner of the site can face charges and have a possible chance to have to permanently remove his site. So technically it kind of is his duty.

Also I'd beg to differ all you need is a steady hand patience and time as I said before and it would take an expert. This was actually shown on the history channels show "copying the Mona Lisa" they go into all kinds of detail on how people fake things from checks all the way to the mona lisa itself.

To be honest i totally agree i was scammed 40m day before yesterday guy recovered his account after 5 days in my possesion but i had no proof what so ever, BUT that storage database would defenetly be a problem because, I am sure sythe dosen't want to delete them right after or a week after the trades been done and 10-20mg ea would be alot for the amount of members we have that do trades daily.

Oh, Fez. I told you to read my guide on how not to get scammed on your intro thread!
    Sorry for your loss.

Idea is good but the practicality isn't. There aren't trades that go through here valued enough and if you agree to the ToS when signing there is nothing that can be done. Sythe isn't responsible for trades, it isn't the sites duty to make sure your trades go well it is the individuals. We can't babysit people because they're lazy or stupid.

The mods can't watch 50 or more 5 to 10 minute videos a day, they have lives, jobs, school, and they just donate their time. It isn't going to happen, and any staffer will come through and say the same thing.

We aren't dealing with professionals, we are dealing with 12 - 30 year olds with little to no graphic design experience. People who know how the programs work can compare legit photos to fakes. It isn't that hard.

I would help or even code this for free however it just wouldn't work. The database would be storing immense amounts of data and would most likely crash since it wouldn't have great funding. Think about it, say there's 100 trades a day using the program at 5minutes per trade and 10-20mb(that's low quality for each video. That's 1-2GB of disk space per day so 7-14GB per week which is going to cost a lot since each video would need to be kept for 30 days at least.

You're forgetting about how we'd then have to implement this Database so it was accessible by a whole lot of people, the proof would have to be public, the server would need constant maintenance (and that'd mean we'd have to delete the proof eventually, which causes problems in disputes).

Not viable, but nice idea nonetheless, Locked!
