It's been a LONG time since i've done this quest...i have one question about it...

after you are done the quest, can you choose not to get the rewards from daero?

if I'm a 1 def pure..then my only option is to not take the reward at all, right?

 

Yup, thats correct. you dont need to claim xp reward.

 

Just don't talk to him and you wont have to.

 

Of course not, you can always get the xp later if you decide you want it though I think

 

Yup, claiming the Experience is an optional post-quest reward and is not compulsory. They also made a change a couple of years back that meant Pures with Mithril RFD gloves could actually upgrade and get Adamant RFD gloves, as you no longer needed to claim the XP in order to return to crash island (necessary for the Awowogei section of Recipe for Disaster).
