Should Marijuana be Legal?

Do some research and get educated. Alcohol was illegal, and is now legal again. Marijuana grows from the ground, how can you outlaw a plant?

Anyways, you should read up on recent Marijuana studies. Did you know that when Reagan was President the procedures they used to find out if Marijuana kills brain cells was to strap a gas mask over a chimps face pumping pure Marijuana smoke into their face and lungs, smoke suffocation. No oxygen just smoke for minutes at a time. I'm pretty sure suffocation killed the brain cells not the Marijuana.

Recent studies show it actually rebuilds cancerous brain cells.

 

Marijuana itself doesn't ruin people's lives, the current "war on drugs" does. If a kid gets arrested with some weed, it can ruin their college chances and future jobs. By your logic alcohol, cigarettes, and money should be illegal, as they all ruin lives and kill people. So many people die from alcohol and cigarettes yearly, and yet not one person has died from straight marijuana usage. Please learn the facts before spewing ignorance about this issue.

And to add on to what you mentioned about Steve Jobs, in his biography stories are recounted about the times he dropped acid with the guy who invented the computer mouse, as well as many other future technological innovators.

It should be legal look at how many people die a year from cigarettes and how many people have died from weed ? No one !! theres never been a single death thats fucked and they say weeds bad...

This is my opinion but Marijuana and Shrooms and such should be legal as they are natural growing plants. But anything else like meth and stuff that aren't natural and made with chemicals should remain illegal.

 

agree with you, Sometimes theres this show called "Drug inc" on the Discovery Channel. It show's how people give everything they have for their drug. They get dropped out of their houses just to buy their daily meal of drugs. With marijuana you don't see very big issues. In my country: the netherlands it's legal only in coffeeshops, this works fine with me.

Misuse it? You mean the same way they will (and always will) misuse alcohol, amongst other things? If anything, keeping it illegal as parent would be worse. Bailing your kid out of jail, them losing out of plenty of opportunities, etc. Besides, not only is alcohol far more exploitable due to its legal status, but that is a drug that is addictive, potentially lethal, far more violent, and far worse for you in health. Those are things marijuana is not. Research it.

You're absolutely right. I'd just like to add for the gang/organized crime point, that it would essentially ruin this industry, because a majority of the street price that weed is thanked for is the smuggling. Since weed won't need to be smuggled, not only will the price drop (which is better for the consumer and farmer), but the availability will be better as well as more trustworthy.

Your argument fails. You may wish to read up on that. Also, your personal opinion has no bearing on it. Do you favor for everything that you like to be legal, but everything you dislike to be illegal? What if you didn't like purple pens? Would you outlaw them?

No, it is not. This is almost not worth addressing. A simple Google search proves your horrible wrong.

So does alcohol. And correct me if I am wrong but:

1) You have no qualms that alcohol is legal.
2) Alcohol is legal and causes far more deaths than marijuana (which resides at that lovely number zero - which is quite good considering that it is estimated anywhere from 20-50% of Americans smoke weed )

The closest I think I've ever come was when I went too long without satisfying the munchies lol. Even then all I felt was a minor headache, and I really think that's the worst I've ever felt after coming down.
