New to this, I will be selling soon...

Heya folks. I've recently come back to Runescape (8 days ago, roughly) for the sole purpose of making gold for fun. I then realized I could sell the money I earned and make a little extra cash on the side. I started with 6m, I'm currently at 80m, and I should be at 500m in 2 weeks roughly.

That being said, I was wondering if you selling pros could offer me additional little tips to ensure my transactions run smoothly. I would really hate to have had to work for all that money only to get scammed due to my newbishness in this...industry.

I've read the stickes and will probably re-read them at least 5 times, but I just want to make sure I have everything down-packed before I attempt my first sale.

Never Download/Use teamviewer.

Always ask people you are talking to for a private message with a part of your chatlog to insure you are not talking to an imposter.

Don't take paypal from non trusted people as they will most likely chargeback the payment.

Don't go first to people with less then 50 vouches, Use an Omm.

kenpen did a pretty good job with a summary. dont forget to double check msn names as well. also, remember to take screenshots of your conversation for proof of any type of scams, chatlogs are not accepted proof.

Basicly a player that scammer in a mild form, or there was never any solid proof.
Watch out with buying / selling to those guys

So the path I ought to follow would be

>Check out potential buyer's credentials
>Get a MM
>Check PP/other credentials as the trade is processed

I would stay away from Paypal. If you want to give them the option to use paypal make sure its through Player auctions.

The easiest way if you ask me is to sell to a bulk buyer who resells rsgp on.
You will get less though it simplifies the trust/scam issues

Theres no chargeback for playeruactions, but theres a 10% + $1.00 fee for each transaction. It also acts like a middleman to keep hold of the buyers money.

 

Don't be fooling into selling via PP using an OMM with a non-trusted buyer. They will still charge back.

I myself use a verified bank account with balance. It's harder to charge back with then credit card funded Paypal account.

Also confirm Paypal e-mail from the user by msn or e-mail, it might be a stolen / hijacked Paypal account.

Like already said only accept it from users you trust completely paying you with Paypal. Always check their vouches and such.

PA is a business. The buyer makes a payment to PA, and PA holds the money while you deliver the GP to the buyer. After both of you confirm the payment, PA then disperses the money to your PayPal account. Essentially, PA acts like a middleman. If the buyer ever decides to chargeback, they would be doing it from PA, not from you; not to mention that chargebacking PA is illegal.

I can only think of three bad things about PA. One of them is the fees. It can be well around 15% of the trade, which you have to pay, not the buyer. You must weigh the cost of the fee to determine whether or not PA is worth using.

PA's customer support is among the worst also. Sometimes they take weeks to disperse or if the buyer claims when you didn't deliver the gold when you did, then you may well wait weeks for a verdict.

The last is that the only valid form of delivering gold is through face-to-face trade; trading it through staking or drop trading cannot be considered as proof or evidence if the buyer ever decides to dispute. Many people have been getting wipes lately, and people not using PA are using other methods of delivery to help prevent this. Note that this is bad only for buyers.

Yes basically what these guys said above stay away from paypal if you can as people can scam easy through and one that is not said above could be to always make sure you have gold for sale . This way you will constantly be making money and you won`t miss out on a big deal .

People here on sythe will not like waiting for their gp if you have non in stock .
