Avoiding a Cesspit of warez activity.

Get someone properly deleting all the photoshop activation key threads in the software part of the market. They're all illegally made, and as far as I am aware warez aren't a topic that we're allowed to discuss on sythe (unless Richard wants to find a dozen DMCA notices etc).

It deserves a moderator on its own, or a moderator to predominantly spend their time there at least.

 

Not all of them are illegal, pretty sure some are legit. They should require the seller to PM a Global with the key or proof of purchasing the key, if they don't post proof then their thread is locked.

 

I can download a key generator and sell keys for however much myself too, I just know not to because warez is against Sythe's rules. Nobody who genuinely bought software for around £400 is going to sell a key for anything less than half of that, realistically.

 

Is there a sticky that says no warez allowed? If so, people need to post proof of legitimate keys/software, and if they can't do that, it should result in a deleted thread, multiple times for a forum ban/perm ban.

True but keygens just tend to make keys that only work offline, and people who buy legit keys expect to for them to work online activated. If it doesn't work online then clearly it's keygenned. I would like to see a sticky though stating this.

 

Just adding on, I think a moderator for that specific section is useless. The current market moderators/global moderators are more than enough to take care of the section.

I commented on one for the threads on how suspicious it looks. There is no way you are going to get legit photoshop keys cheap enough to sell them for $40.

 

Oh, what I meant was another sticky in the software market section. Just a reminder that no warez are allowed, since the software market is an incubator for warez.

 

We shouldn't just assume though.

When I was new here, I didn't know the market rsgp price for upgrades, and I ended up selling a few upgrades for like 3m.

 

It could work the same way as CD keys. Post a pic or the thread is locked. Also, a moderator for the software section would be nice

Yah, a software mod would be a bad idea.
I'm sure that someone like Blupig who is fairly active there wouldn't have a problem cleaning it up from time to time.

He was reselling a photoshop key, and the guy in the original thread alluded that he bought but just hadn't used it which means he knew the price.

 

lol no offense but the mods are pretty terrible at their job, the excuse is always "well we don't get paid to do this", well no you don't but you shouldn't take a job you can't handle thats bad business plain and simple and the reason so many people get scammed on sythe.

and to tribal, people sell things cheaper than they're worth all the time, just maybe not too often for a particular item you're looking for. You seem to forget about people who get things as gifts etc. where they have no use for them and thus sell at a low price. you also have to take in account for the age of the product, something may stay the same price for several years but you can find a used one much cheaper.

 

HarHarHar, you have 22 posts and think you can criticize the staff? You haven't even been here long enough to know how the community works. It may be real, but chances are it isn't because someone, with common sense, will research a product and it's price before selling it to maximize their profits.

The software market is a new section, there was bound to be unforeseen problems. That was beyond the mod's control.

Mostly true for tangible things. Electronically, age doesn't matter.
What's the difference between a used key that is 1 year old, and a used key that is 1 week old? Assuming that they are both legal, there is no difference. Both keys will activate the same product regardless of age.
