Well, I was excluding randomness from my argument. It really can't be accounted for. I was assuming a world that continued in the same way and the same rate it is now. In our world today, we have little to no pressure to adapt to our environment. We've found a way to tame almost every environment on earth.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand where I was comparing sociological changes to physical.

I'm saying that all advancements had to start somewhere. Before having 4G LTE we had 3G cellular devices, before having the high-speed internet we have today, we had dial-up. The fact that these drugs exist and are being prescribed shows that people want them. We are going to be inaccurate and ineffective at first, but medical advances build on what we have now. Its not unusual for us to be appalled today by medical practices done in the past.

Lessening security of nootropics = bad for the world

Even a liberal would agree to this

I like nootropics but they can be a bit expensive. Because they take a while to notice the effects, you have to buy a large amount, which just adds to the problem of their high prices.

I've tried a combination of piracetam and choline for a month. The effect was subtle but imo not worth it. I was consuming near 3200mg piracetam every morning - not a trivial thing to do. While experimenting, I also threw in pseudoephedrine; while not exactly a nootropic, it did noticeably affect alertness and focus.

I've heard promising things about aniracetam and pramiracetam, which I might try next.

Here's a great thread on nootropic combinations on longecity: http://www.longe*********/forum/top...ondensed-a-total-newbies-guide-to-nootropics/

I should have made myself more clear. Waht I mean is that while they do exist in labs and such, actually getting hold of such things is difficult, and those people who are selling it to you are more than likely just selling meth

I started taking a piracetam/choline combo as well over the summer. I haven't noticed a ton of improvement, although I do seem more socially adept. I'm not really sure if it was caused by the combo or something else though.

They are something with which I will definitely continue to experiment.

Also, they aren't very expensive at all if you just buy the powder. It takes a day or two to get used to the taste then you're fine.

True, I bought the packaged version of piracetam which came with the powder already in pill form. I just find that the options are very limited - spend a lot on a small amount of pills or buy in bulk and find out you might not even want it. I've seen people consider piracetam to be more of a placebo than anything else. If you're going to try experimenting, try aniracetam or pramiracetam, they're supposedly over 10 times more potent and there for requires a smaller dose.

Also looks like my link was censored, the real site is longe city .com (who knows why "e city.com" is in the filter)

There are many reputable dealers for such powders. There's SNS, Smart Powders, Cerebral Health, etc. If I'm not mistaken, a few people with access to lab equipment have been able to prove that their products are indeed 99.9% pure. I'll see if I can dig up that link later.
