The best thing I've done on runescape

Is to quit. Took me several months to realize its just a game. I joined runescape a bit over a year back (a few days before I joined sythe) and I've been playing on and off. I've valued runescape over friends numerous times. Lost over 150m dicing and spend a lot of time rebuilding my bank. Everytime I took a 2 week or one month break from rs, I noticed a good boost in my social life. During weekends, I've spent 19 hours plating rs in a row once, averaging 8-10 hours everyday. Weekdays its like 2-3 hours a day. The bot nuke did not stop me. I botted all night almost every night since about september 2011.


Then I realized that I'm overdoing it. I'm addicted. It had to stop.

Today, I went to several f2p worlds; bought 10-12 inventories of rune equipment and dropped it in wildy in pking worlds and in daemonheim in the official world. Handed 100k to a few noobs in w1 lumby and gave the rest of my bank (wont tell how much) as a donation to my friend who needed money for 99 summoning.


Then I gave my account to a random noob. Added him on facebook and gave him my personal cell number in-case he needs my help in recovering. The feeling is amazing.


Bye - bye runescape, had fun playing from Jan 2011 - 3rd Feb 2012. My suggestion for everyone who spends more than 30 hours a week on runescape or any other MMO is to quit asap. You WILL regret it later unless you win the lottery or something lol.


This is my 3rd or 4th time quitting but this time I'm sure I will not come back. Bye Sythe.org

Damn, good decision man. And yeah most people on Sythe are addicted to RS and they don't have the willpower to quit. But you're life is probably gonna get better because you quit, good luck.

happens to all newfags, and considering you've already quit 3-4 times, a 5th time is likely to happen as well.

to combat your addiction, you need to pick up a hobby or find something else to do. otherwise when your bored you'll quickly crawl back to the devil that is RS.

 

I've been playing Runescape since 2006.. & at the start i was only on for like an hour a day not even that.

Soon around about 1-2 years later i kind of got addicted too and started playing around about 8 - 10 hours a day on weekends..2-3 hours on weekdays (Pretty much same as you)

I did this for about 2 years and I admit it was taking over my life too..(I wasn't doing all my homework at school..I wasn't going out much..I was having late nights playing RS & Waking up late for school..It did sort of mess up my education).

Once I was older (about 16-17) I realised this too, and I had sort of quit so i was only botting not playing legit at all..after about 6 months i quit perm too, and i did have a much better life in terms of education, socially, etc..

I'm 18 & a half now and I've just got back into the game (I'm only playing 30mins - hour though)

There's nothing wrong with playing..Just don't let it take over other things in life and certainly never make it your first priority (Like I did at one point)

 

Please people..STOP making these threads..no one gives a fuck if you quit rs...you were pathetic if you didn't have the willpower to control how much time you spend playing a game and will probably just replace it with something else..

Can't tell you how much I agree with you bro. Even though I don't regret ever having played it, I just wish I hadn't gotten so addicted to it. It sounds pathetic, but it really fucked me up. I mean I got really attached to the game and when I look back, I feel like a jackass for having wasted so much time on it.
BUT, the best thing to do is move the fuck on and start doing something productive with your life!

I started in 2005, tried quitting a couple times every year, but didn't actually quit completely until 2010. I hope your attempt(s) at quitting go better than mines did lol.

Congratulations for managing to quit I remember when I last quit right before highschool & gave away my accounts and all my cash. I was a little bit sad in a way, but I soon forgot all about Runescape and I am very glad that I never wasted any time in HS playing this game, and instead had a very, very active social life

I will probably quit again some day when RS just becomes too much and I do not have the time for it. However, right now I am quite enjoying playing RS and I have the free time that allows me to do so. Have a good life bro!

 

This is true.
You need something else to occupy your time besides RS.
After MW3 came out I never touched rs for 3 months.
I regret spending so much time on it, but I'm glad that it's now over, and I won't lose any more time to it again.

I also signed up for lacrosse my freshman year, and it's been a great experience so far. Me and all my best friends are on the team, and it's really fun.

 

You'll be back once you have a lot of extra money to spend on RSGP, then you'll see how boring the game is even when you're rich, then you'll quit for good.

 

ive quit like twice, about 2 quit a 3rd time after first class questing finishes so i can sell my account for a bit , cya later bro i just starting see'in you around as well

Make a schedule. Give yourself couple of hours for playing, and use the rest for other stuff. L2BALANCE.

 

Life>RS but again, RS is a game.. niggas need to learn to be social
