Will we ever see the "Glory Days" again?

Wrong again good sir. You could create 2 separate procedures, 1 for day & 1 for night, detecting what time it would be would be very easy to do aswell. Randoms are completely different, but I have still run scripts more than 6 hours....

You are biased and do not understand coding at all. Simple logic easily can combat any type of obstacles that are visual based. If you can see it, we can bot it.

 

Well then why your anti-randoms are not working at all?

And did you hear that there is something like midnight etc ... so light can change continously with time and there you will need many many algorythms

Daylight changing graduallly? No problem.

I'm sure that together we could work out a function to gradually change the color searched for as "time" progresses in our virtual world.

 

What if Jagex created a completely dynamic and random weather system? Regular expressions while powerful, could only work well if the lighting/weather pattern was predictable. And once you throw in fog, rain, and snow, edge detection might just go out the window completely.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is what Jagex was working on. However, they'd likely really be upping the game requirements with a dynamic weather system if that was their solution to color bots.

 

The "glory days (of botting)" are surely over for now. I mean, SIMBA rules. Jbot is out, and has a lot of potential, but until the kinks are worked out - legit or SIMBA.

 

The glory days were back in 2006. Before bots, before the GE, original Wildy, no cook "X" option, etc. etc.

Those were the best days of RS, when 120k xp / hr was BOSS.

Bots RUINED RuneScape, and now that they are gone (well, most of them) I say YES! I actually play the game Legit and enjoy playing legit. I also have been a long-term botter since RSBot, and RSbuddy days. I don't disagree with bots, but I do think they make the game worse. I'm happy they are gone, and you should be too. Play legit, get better, thats how RuneScape was intended.

Also with Jacmob being ordered to shut down RSbuddy and actually court ordered to join the JaGeX team in the botting prevention center, I highly doubt they will ever come back. Especially because he was the best coder out there an now he's working to prevent bots. Good luck future botters =]

 

I think the days of hardcore botting in Runescape are likely over, and will not return the so called "glory days" again any time soon.

 

That can still be determined. One could first determine what weather was currently happening, then could change the color searched for using a simple case statement with what weather it was. Just throw in a check for the current weather every so often and your good.

 

Yeah that would be to hard, but still SIMBA is not as good as it could be ,cause I have never run script for more then 2horus. Only tab maker ,but now also this script sucks.

Reflection bots were better ,because they have easy failsafing, here with color is not that easy as you may think of.

 

Well then you are either doing something wrong or are using outdated scripts. I currently have 2 scripts running, a modified super-heater and a simple woodcutter(MSI), and they have both been running for 3+ hours.

That would not be hard at all to determine the weather, please do not make claims like that if you have no coding knowledge.

Just because you can't do something, that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

 

Yeah I am not telling that its impossible ,but I am just telling that its lot of harder then old reflection bots, therefore there are not many stable scripts with lot of failsafes or at least in public scripts, not sure about private sections,

I used to make scripts for rsbuddy ,but when I tried to make some for Simba ,they always failed on something ,especially color decting , its really hard to set up timming ,because if you use repeat wait->until see something , it goes just fast and you have to add also some wait time after this cycle

 

The "glory days" of botting is not over. Considering if the game is still around in a couple of years and cheating has died down there will be another bot. But now jagex knows how to combat it, it will be much harder to keep a working prototype out.

 

Botting never died. Arayan anyone? Tagex ended botting then. RSBot anyone? Runetek 5 update killed what everyone thought was botting and Nexus had no problem there, just as RiD had no problem here and bots will never be completely wiped out.

 

Botting was fun while it lasted but it did ruin the game.

As a gp seller im glad to see them go, more profit for me + i got my main maxed out.

Jagex will no doubt do a second bot nuke and after that bots will be rare, clients will be unstable and Jagex will constantly peruse the owners so i dont think any one bot would be around to long.
