Troll pet?

I've seen alot of thread on the official runescape forums about these troll pets eating edibles?

I literally have no clue...

Can anyone enlighten me please?
What this is about / What it does etc..

You can get a baby troll pet by doing part of the Burthrope tutorial. You can use any item on it to give it the name of what you fed to it. You will lose the item you use on it.

 

Just another pointless update really lol, they don't do anything, except follow you.

 

Didn't know that you lose the item when you feed it LOL, I can't help but think and feel sorry for some idiot that fed it a phat thinking he'd get it back.

 

Waitt...So jagex introduced a new troll pet which follows you around...

You can feed it an item..And people have been feeding it thinking they'll get their items back but instead they have just lost it?

 

It assumes the name of the item that you feed it. This is mine.

 

But you don't get your item back..? So people have been feeding it Partyhats & other rares for it to have an amazing name lol..

 

Yeah, that's the reason why they feed items like that. I like this update.

 

So if you feed it a cooked shrimp, it will get the name shrimp? I had no idea about this until now.

 

It will get the name "Cooked Shrimp"
