I am only posting this because i have got what i wanted from this. Im not saying I am the only to do this , but it shows its possible

Holy crap. I can't believe that worked for you, especially considering the lengthy history you have of rule breaking. I am even more surprised that your query was answered by a real human and not an automated message. Thirdly, I am even MORE impressed that Mod Abb actually believe you were a parent, as your spelling/grammar was pretty terrible for a so called 'adult' :laugh:

Yep, if you're kind enough in the e-mail and sound enough like a parent, they will listen to you and treat you like a parent. They can tell the difference between a 'parent' and a kid, so for anyone else who wants to try this make sure you sound as formal as possible when writing regarding your child's account.

I don't mean to sound like a douchebag or anything, but like I pointed out before, I don't really think he sounds like a parent at all and I am very surprised Mod Abb actually believed he was an adult :huh:

Just look at the difference in spelling, grammar, and sentence structure between his appeal and the J-Mod's reply. The appeal clearly looks like it was written by a kid IMO, while the other one is obviously written by an adult with lots of writing practice.

 

i havent been on the account for so long.. but i know i had a decent amount of cash.. the stats are just average main, and is all i have is like 500gp and a set of rull rune. they fucked my wealth up, but the name is all i wanted honestly.

 

True I guess, but what I think really matters is which J-Mod you get through to. Not everyone is as kind as Mod Abb I'm guessing and some will be stricter. Besides not every parent will type like that, but Jagex have to assume that whoever they receive e-mails from into that inbox is a parent/guardian.

 

They replied to you so fast -.- I haven't received a reply back from the 3 emails I've sent them.

well im a parent , but im not to big on grammar apparently lol , But i have a daughter and not a son. I tried to sound as clueless as possible in the email as well. IM NOT AS DUMB AS THE EMAIL MAKES ME LOOK lol

 

So many grammatical errors from the 'parent'..

I doubt this method works for every person.

 

Yeah, I am a little bit skeptical though as to whether Jagex truly believes that every e-mail they get in that inbox is from a parent. It is widely known that Jagex keeps a fairly close tab on cheating sites and other RS related forums, and I wouldn't doubt that they have seen lots of posts like this one where people post direct evidence of them e-mailing Jagex and supposedly "fooling" them. I don't think they are really as dumb as we all think they are lol.

But who knows, there are too many circumstances involved to speculate on why it works in some cases and why other times it does not. I agree that the Mod who handles the appeal plays a huge part in the rate of success, and for all we know Mod Abb could be a young, naive new Jagex employee who was truly fooled by this letter, or maybe just having a good day and decided to give him a second chance.

Whatever the case may be, I am still glad to see that this worked, and even more impressed that it was handled by a human being. I have seen too many of these appeals that recieve back what can pretty much be guaranteed to be an automated response from their appeal system. Maybe they are trying to improve their customer support from now on, and therefore more of these e-mail will be handled by humans and we will see more cases approved and accounts unbanned if the circumstances allow it.

Also, I trip balls - I am not trying to disrespect you or anything so I hope you don't get that idea. I just didn't fall for the appeal at all and am a bit surprised it worked, but in the end it is a good thing that they replied so fast and took your report seriously! I am happy you got your account back as well

 

My grammatical error's got me the account back, but fuck if i knew i was ganna get bashed on for spelling i wouldnt have posted it . This thread is to show that it is POSSIBLE . not to flame lol but its ok im a big boy , you wont hurt my feelings.

I suppose I'll give this a try. Made a new email that definitely looks parenty and tried to seem clueless but above the intelligence level the typical RS player lulz. Will post an update if anything comes of it.

I wrote to them stating basically I am my own parent, the offence was in 2006 after runescape 2 came out and i take full responsibility; however, i was frustrated at playing for 5 years to get owned by a bot of 2 weeks so decided to join what you cant beat (this was way after rsc died).

I used PROPER english, have played legit for 3 years now, do not even want to bot and have not even received a response! Sigh..

Look at the offences.. That is ridiculous!!

This is obviously a loophole in the system and i believe it is company policy perhaps for jagex to adhere to parents requests.

This is a really good point actually You did mention a credit card, which usually means reccuring payments every month for them, so maybe that prompted him to go "pull some strings" and get you unbanned?

The next person to try this should also casually drop mention of a credit card within the appeal and see what happens

 

I wonder what would happen if I copied your e-mail word for word on an account that got banned a couple years back.
