Will we ever see the "Glory Days" again?

Glory days will maybe finally be back now that gold farmers and extreme botters are gone. Back to legit runescape how it should be..

 

Actually it is possible. I know your personal ability to comprehend the idea of what screen-scrapers are, try to understand this: What you see, Simba sees.

It's obvious you're upset that you can't use your iDungeon bot anymore, but that's no reason to doubt basic logic. That bot is not coming back, you might as well just get over it.

 

Fagex has already posted regarding the remaining "screen-scraper" and Simba like bots in the game. They are the next target. Without Impsoft in their way, Fagex can focus all their power on Simba. The same thing ("...we're 5+ years old and constantly developing...") was said by Impsoft which you've already read about. I wanna agree with you, but I can't.

 

To be honest, everyone has a different interpretation of the "Glory Days", some refer to it as when they could bot all their skills and some refer to it as when they had fun.

The "Glory Days" in my opinion was back in 06-07 max. Any updates after that was unnecessary. I personally enjoy bots because I dont have time to play, but Gold Farmers, ie. Individuals which hoard gold on hundreds of accounts each day, ruin the game. They accumulate mass wealth and just RWT.

But to be honest, What's the fun in a game, if your not playing it. Im currently building a Claw Rusher to PK in my free time to have fun, not make money off the game...

 

I'm not referring to the days when you could sit in your room with friends for 5+ hours having a great time scaping. I'm talking about 6 months ago when you could bot any skill you wanted to 99 in a matter of weeks/months. Please don't misinterpret what I'm talking about. I loved legitting when I played with friends. Now, all of us have grown up. We don't really find joy in the game anymore. Why not bot?

 

There is no possible way to ruin the color bots. Like multiple other people said what humans see color bots see. Color bots can still work in Black and White so I find it hard to believe Jagex can do away with them without ruining Runescape in the process.

 

Exactly....if everything was black and white we still could perform using the distance between colors(black&white). Even if things were 100% dynamic we still can make due, it just becomes slightly more annoying.

Like others have said, what you see a "screen-scraper" will see. We also are not modifying any of the actual code of Runescape, so we can't be shut down that easily in court.

 

Like what failed pure said, we can literally bot rs if it was BLACK AND WHITE (using edge and boundary), even without the main screen at ALL by using ONLY THE minimap if not, just the COMPASS.

If they were to go to a download client, and using game guard to block input.
There people already working out a virtural HID mouse driver that can be used by scar and simba, and we also have opengl and injection (still avaliable, just privately).


The only thing they can do as a WEB browser is to mess up color and FONT, thats about it, which would be hard but still fixable within a week.

If they were to make it so we can't grab colour directly, we can still use a camera overlay to obtain the individual pixel.

If they were to make it opengl... hehehe then we got even more advantage.


Jagex should just stop wasting their money to fight again a community of people that are there by fun and not money. Instead... FOCUS ON MAKING YOUR GOD DAMN GAME BETTER! They first hit their 1 millionth active member back in 2006, and now they are getting I'd say oo... 1/3 of that tops?

Don't get me wrong. I love runescape to death, probably a lot more than most people that bots. I love legit skilling and talking to other people, doing quest without guides and making my own money from selling the bars and armour that I made. Rather than kids stealing their parents credit card and buying gold off gold4fun.com and then attempt to scam or learn how to bot farm from another scammer that is just about 9 month older than them...

The glory days were over when RSC went to members only and they closed registration.

 

people liike u didnt ruin the game per say...its the retards that had bot farms of 20+ bots to make irl cash that ruined the game/economy. i was like u, i never had more than 3 bots goin at any given time and all i did was bot stats...i think in the entire 3 years i botted i probably botted 50m gp combined, rest was just stats i didnt wana veg in front of my computer leveling mindlessly...but all in all the bot nuke was a good thing. bots are still out there, id try rid. pretty much impossible to get banned if u follow conduct

 

You need to work on your preception of 'Glory Days'.

To answer your question: I doubt it, hopefully this is the end of it.

 

what they sed, as soon as RSC was turned in to RS2 the game was dead to me (didnt help i moved my bank to RS2 befor seeing how they killed the game)

and botting for me was some think to get some skills up when sleeping so i dont give a hell if bots come back or not. hope they dont tho as its nice not having to find a spot that is bot free

 

Botting didn't destroy rs its the goldfarmers.

 

I hope never, bots totally ruined game.

I hope Jagex will implemet soon day/night feature and simba & rid will end too. The game is much better without bots!

 

That wouldn't end us actually(Simba). As said, we can perform even if the screen was black & white. We do more than color

 

They have made their game a lot better (to legit players) by eliminating bots.

The glory days of botting will never return. Developers are either scared or discouraged by the fact that Jagex can ruin a months work of scripting in the snap of a finger.

 

Would love to bot for gp again but sadly it wont happen.

 

I cant see Runescape growing in size over the next few years. You rarely see genuine new players anymore.

 

Well I used simba and you actually do not have algorythm to solve it, Becasue color change in day and night , and any contrast etc tolerances will be for nothing..

I have never run simba for more then 1 hours. Why? It always get stuck in random
