Well I am transferring to UT Austin next year which is MUCH closer than now...
I've been in this relationship for a year and trust is pretty big, but I have felt those weird instances that it's not cheating, but that I purposely refrain from hanging out with friends because I feel that it would be wrong of me or that my girlfriend will not view it correctly.

I had one once, about 4 years ago.
It was a complete waste of time, and you will feel shit.

The only time I've ever seen one work is when my dad got a job promotion and my mom wanted to stay at her business another year. They were 4 hours apart for a year seeing each other every other weekend. Other than that they don' work

IMO long distance relationships are very hard to make work... I don't think I would ever enter into one unless I was already committed in a relationship, and that person was temporarily moving away or something like that.

One of my best friends just did that recently, his gf moved back to Australia from Canada about 4 or 5 months ahead of him, and they stayed together in remainded in close contact until the beginning of last month when he finally flew out there to join her. Now in a case like that, I think I could do it. Any other case would be doable, but very hard to pull off effectively and keep the 'spark' alive without the physical contact & affection.

As they though, love conquers all. I'm sure if the people love each other enough, any sort of relationship will work.
