Le Capitain Jack Sparrow.

I am going to put a coin and some beads in one of my dreads, inspired by Cap'n Jack Sparrow.
Just need some help as to how to attach to coin and which coin to use.
Any idea's ?

The only idea that I can come up with is walking like that on the streets with a bottle of beer in one hand, and saying "arrgggh matey" to whoever stares at you

If you can put a hole in the coin you could weave your hair in to it rather easily.

 

That was my first thought, however, since my dreads are still 'locking' they fall out quite easily. Even without the extra (heavy) weight of a coin, the hair already comes undone for now.

I am thinking about drilling a hole in it, put a fishline through it, and then simply weave that throughout the dread with a knot here and there.
The beads should nicely cover up any fishline that is showing.

As for the coin, a mate of mine told me there's a lot of ancient greek coins for sale on eBay, many dating back to the BC times, for a mere $5-$25.
This really sounds like an awesome idea in all honesty, who knows who has used that coin and what it has been used to pay for ?

Solder a jewelry ring to the edge of a coin. Soldering guns are about 25 dollars, flux and wire is about 5 dollars, or save yourself the trouble by forgetting flux and finding some wire on your own.. Copper works but I think it has a higher melting point than zinc found on coins so idk.. Cheap little jewelry rings are about 50 cents, but again you can just make your own by coiling wire
