    Before time?

What are your thoughts of before time?

I believe in god, but no religious comments please.

i.e. entropy did not exist in a super-dense, mega particle that "was" the "universe"?

    Before time?

This is a common misconception. Ready for a philosophical brainfreeze?

The phrase "before time" is nonsensical because it incorporates time. You're trying to apply the concept time to the concept not-time. Think about it.

This is true, but I am conceptualizing an idea that we cannot perceive in terms of one that is understandable to the masses.

    But even that aside,
I don't understand the big bang theory in the sense that I cannot understand how entropy just happened, I suppose it is mind boggling that the the point of no-time(thank you for correction) either turned to time, etc.

Let's have gas A and gas B. Gas A is hotter than gas B. The black line is a wall, and the gray grid represents the possible places the atoms of the gas can be in.

What do you suppose would happen if the wall was removed?

Entropy is the disorder in a system. What would need to happen for disorder to increase? The gases would have to mix. How about the other way around, what would need to happen for disorder to decrease? The hotter particle would have to move from the right side to left side, and the colder from left to right.

Now, let's remove that wall, let the system be for a while, then put the wall back and observe what has happened. Let's repeat this multiple times.
    Here are the results:

As I demonstrated, the disorder increased in all the scenarios except one. Entropy is a result of simple probability: there are much more possible outcomes for end results which are more disordered than originally, than those of less disorder. It is possible that when we do this experiment we'll end up with a colder and a hotter gas, but the probability of that happening - due to there being much, much more disordered states than ordered states - is highly improbable. It will happen almost never.

As for the actual topic, read a book. Or two. They're both very well-written and can explain the matter much better than I can refer their content from my memory.

Also, according to relativity, time is inversely proportional to velocity. I personally believe that we live in a multi-verse and that the specific point from which the Big Bang occurred was moving almost infinitely fast, but as soon as it slowed down, time began to occur, allowing the singularity to explode.

    Before time?

Time is just another dimension. In essence, it's like asking for the inverse of up, forwards, or right. Just because we do not have a word for it, does not mean that the opposite of time is anything but time, simply in the opposite direction

No one knows and everyone's answer is probably wrong. Everything we know is a conception of everything that exists, and "before time" nothing existed.

I honestly don't think our brains can conceive what happened before everything "started".

I am with Herman Li on this one, even multidimensional theory is based off of theorized mathematical proof.

And thanks for the book links! I mostly read about math, but this will definitely intrigue me.

This , The human brain is unable to handle the question of Before time , there could be millions of arguments for and against , But no one really knows

    Before time?

The reason concepts like 'before time' and a 'square circle' cannot be conceptualized is because they are contradictions. Contradictions don't exist in reality, so our mind cannot represent these concepts in a logical way (because they are illogical).

So really, the question 'What happened before time' is akin to asking 'What's north of the north pole'. If you cannot answer the latter, what hope do you have of answering the former?

    Before time?

    This is true.

To know what was before time you have to know how time started and that is up for debate. Some people say that it was Big Bang that started, others say that a God spoke it into existence. The truth, as Malak describes, is that you can't answer one questions if you don't know the prerequisite information. Tell me how time began and I will eventually tell you what was before time, but the truth is that we will probably never know with certainty.

Edit: Someone suggested A Brief History of Time and it is a good book but it made me feel like I was reading a kiddie book, because he really doesn't go into all that much detail on the deep subjects. However, he does give a great general overview of Theoretical Physics and what we know as of now.

Edit 2: And by I, I mean I as a collective of humanity... So more like a We, but whatever.

Edit 3: <3 Malak (See Below)
