Why was I prompted To Download?

I went to www.sythe.org and I was prompted to download something from octet-stream? I'm not sure if it's just me being paranoid but it wouldn't let me open it, just save it. Luckily, I didn't download it, but maybe it just hits random users as to not be as obvious. Hopefully it's just a mistake

 

I believe that this is just some sort of cache file. It isn't harmful at all and a lot of people have been getting it.

 

It's nothing malicious, don't worry
It's just a site problem that Matthew and Sythe have been alerted to and are in the process of fixing - it's related to the issue you may have encountered with the page of random characters that pop up occasionally.
Obviously there's a lot more to it, but I figure a simpler explanation would be better!
