Just searching the web for runescape botting and what is happening and came across this picture of a apologize letter. Interesting if you haven't seen it before.



Edit: Was also looking at this Youtube video, the guy apparently said that jagex has the right to hold or sell the property of Mark and Erics house.

I personally don't think it's sincere, but they needed to do whatever they could to not pay the massive fines, and get into too much trouble. Nice find.

 

Not exactly surprising, but still interesting I guess. I'd like to know how much their paying Jagex, and if that is really their house..

 

That's why, when you own a bot... you use VPNs and fake details

 

They made a shitloads of money from other players sufferings so that serves them right.

where is the proof backing that jagex got that house etc.? I know a few bot makers who lost multiple cases to jagex, and was never charged any sort of amount just forced to shut down or find a way around whatever term they went to court for. Honestly seems like this kid is just trying to get famous by posting so called inside info lol.

 

This case is truly surprising, to say the least. It definitely adds legal precedent for other cases against for-profit botting companies, as stated in the last paragraph. Good fight, Jagex; I'm actually decently impressed that these results happened.

Yeah I was pretty surprised when I came back to runescape and found out there was no bot's then found out all this about impsoft. I thought jagex would never take it this far. I am glad they did to be honest, hopefully runescape can get back into shape?

But I'd imagine it's a lottt of money considering if they're even caught talking about Jagex they'll have to pay $1,000,000.

I never said anything about it was what you said I was just asking if anyone who knew them in anyway can confirm or deny this, or if there is some forms posts stating such.

and for the famous part, we are talking about him aren't we? So it obviously is making him more well known. Also kids are always getting excited about rs youtubers, why I will never understand.

First off this is the runescape cheating section; don't like it? Get out.

Second, they have done nothing but benefit the runescape blackmarket community with working scripts to save us time.

 

Surprising to say the least. Hopefully they will still be able to hold onto their houses/possessions and some of the money they made. This is a lot of time down the drain.

OT: The letter seemed good but after I read the part about how they didn't actually realize their bots were ruining the game, I had to stop. I bet Fagex made them put that in there. They couldn't give two shits about what their bots were doing to the game. They are a business.

That letter doesn't sound too sincere IMO I think they just wrote it because it was one of the court conditions (I saw this in another thread). It sucks how hard Jagex came down on them though... its a bit ridiculous actually.

Jagex completely buttfucks Mark and Eric Snellman over developing and selling IBot software, yet they hire Jacmob on the spot in order to save their own asses lots of time, money, and headaches. Fucking bastards, really.

 

That letter makes no sense at all. There is no court that would ever make you pay over a million for disclosing the outcome of an already public affair. If this is true you can go and get any and all information about the case at the courthouse where the case was which will probably be the closest courthouse to where these people live. And the only way they would have to pay anything besides legal fees and court costs of Jagex is if Jagex some how found a magical way to prove without a doubt that that bot has made them lose money. And that would be nearly impossible. The letter is obviously fake and written by someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

Without being able to prove that their software has cost Jagex any amount of money in fact it was probably the only thing that saved the game from going under a year ago or more like it should have. Good luck getting any kind of punitive damages even if they did win because yet its still impossible to prove that their software caused them to lose any money at all. Lastly the part talking about how they are not allowed to play a Jagex game ever again is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard which proves this thing was written by a 12 year old with a thesaurus and way too much time on his hands.

And they wouldn't take a house these guys would actually be in prison for tax evasion if anything. I highly doubt they paid any kind of income tax and the thousands and thousands of dollars they did make from this. Like a geeky Al Capone
