Trying to appeal a perm mute...

    Hey guys.

My friend Andreas account got a permanent mute a year ago, he got bored of not being able to talk to people and quit. Well the thing is now he want's to start playing again(because of me xD) but his account is still muted, but he still has the appeal but he didn't wan't to use it back then(too early to do a appeal).

Now the thing is... We don't know what to write in the appeal...He really want's his account unmuted so I can't mess this up for him(I am writing the appeal for him).

He got muted because some guy he had known in RS for months said he will start botting and asked my friend what is the best free bot. My friend(stupid) trusted this guy and told him which bots are good. But he also told him that he doesn't bot himself. Which he doesn't.

Anyway this guy was just trying to lick Jagex's butt, he reported my friend. My friend's account doesn't have a SINGLE offence or black mark except for this one.

Now I'm not sure what to do... Help  ?

    Thanks.

Come up with a good story, maybe that your account were hacked when it got muted or something like that :p
I believe after a year his IP has changed atleast once.

I don't think that would work :p Wouldn't be better if I were honest? And I'm not sure if his IP is static or not...

Also if i try to be honest and just tell them that he did wrong and he won't do it again blablabla which option should i choose in the appeal?

    * Someone hacked my account
    * Customer support has done something wrong.
Seems like Jagex only gave these two options so people wouldn't try apologizing... Permanent ban for a MINOR(yes it says MINOR) abuse... It's not like he told that guy to go botting, he just told him what bots are available. Fagex also wasted his remaining membership on that account(seriously, who plays with a muted account?).

    Try * Customer support.

You should wait a little bit and see what other members have to say here.

Well, dont blame Jagex first of all, be sincere and kind about the situation, yes you may be angry since you cant talk. just say it has been a long time since the mute occurred, just say talking is a vital aspect of runescape, you cant communicate with others making the experience not enjoyable and so on, wait for more people to have their say too.

I've heard that if you get muted a really really really long time and then come back to appeal and just say you've matured and you want to start playing again(business for them) it gets accepted. Don't take my word for it though

This. Make up a story about how you are his parent (this must be from a different address than the one linked to the account) and how your child has grown more mature and would like another chance, etc. Be sincere and use grammar.

If this failed, would my appeal still be available?
I'm still not sure if being honest OR apologizing would work...
I've heard a bot reads their appeals.
If I don't get any other idea I'll probably use this, if it fails I'll apologize.

Meh... I'll just try apologizing. If that doesn't work then I'll try the parents method.
