There are many people that would be staff members of sythe and have no affiliation with the market, not that I'm saying that is a solution at all, don't expect sythe to completely change.

Half the members on the staff have no affiliation with the market whatsoever, however, they are trusted immediately by normal users.

Anybody with a rank just automatically gets trusted, sorry to break it to you. We can't change that, and I agree that it's not right.

@TheBlackTux: I think you misunderstood my post completely.

So personally I think those people should be picked for staff rather than people like you who will use it to their gain in the market, and not at all am I denying I wouldn't do the same, because I would.

And maybe I did, but a part of that post had personal opinion too.

I just don't get how someone less qualified as a mm is an omm and you got denied for the position.

Why should we limit people? Don't they have the right to participate in the market regardless of whether they're staff or not? Do you realize that the staff don't get paid for their work? It's strictly volunteer work.

We do have an advantage. We have pointed it out. I don't see what you're disputing.

Didn't read it all... People get staff due to basically the same characteristics that we look for in OMMs. It makes perfect sense they get it faster.

You don't get directly paid, but you definitely make money from your position, and that may be my issue.

So you're saying we should restrict staff to not use the market?

That would be unfair for me to suggest, but if the question were to arise, I would support the idea.

Yeah, I have. So you're saying that those who have advantages should have to complete different applications to obtain the same rank?

You have an advantage for Timmy because you have more vouches. Should you have to complete a different application?

Snow Patrol received OMM before he was a moderator. He was approved solely on his application, and himself.

The OMM process is rigorous, and it's been recently revamped. There's no special consideration given to moderators, they are based on their application, and themselves. If a global didn't do his OMM application correctly, he'd be denied for sure. Uh, OMMs that were never staff have scammed in the past, as well, you can't use that logic.

    That's what staff are.

Like I've stated, he was accepted BEFORE he was a moderator. It was himself, and his application. Snow Patrol had a strong application, a lot of market experience, very nice, extremely community-oriented, etc. I'm not saying TBT isn't, but I'm assuming this is why Snow Patrol probably got accepted.

I am laughing at you right now. He clearly doesn't have any advantages over you. Hes 3x more deserving of your OMM position yet you have it.

There are a lot of assumptions in this thread on both sides, and arguments both ways are flawed because of speculation but not hard fact.

Perhaps he was scared? How many people do you think are on this forum who haven't owned up to things they've done?

Don't even get me started with Louis.

Louis didn't scam shit. He is banned due to being trick and in turn having the person who he was MMing scammed. He didn't have the cash to pay back and in turn was banned. While it is his fault, he didn't scam anyone.

I don't know what went wrong with Plznate, I'm assuming he needed money bad.

I haven't made a single cent off of Sythe... >_>. Again... If you are OMM material, you are most likely mod material.

Weird - I'm laughing at you.

Good lord guys, it's not freakin' rocket science. Of course someone who's already proven that they're trustworthy is going to have an advantage whilst obtaining a rank based on not ONLY on the trades completed, but whether or not their trusted. How does that not make sense? Seeing as Sythe moderators aren't paid a salary, it seems fair to me that they gain some perks.

Anyways - Superman isn't saying he should be trusted simply because he's a moderator, but that people do, regardless. It's just what happens.

Edit: by perks I simply meant they're already in a position of trust, ergo making it easier to obtain ranks that require what they already have.
