SOPA/PIPA is dead, but ACTA will KILL the internet

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=citzRjwk-sQ

This video pretty much explains ACTA. But does not show how terrible ACTA really is... DO YOUR RESEARCH!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_bERAf5KAg&feature=related

Please direct your Attention into protesting ACTA, as it is secretly in the process of being signed while SOPA has everyone's attention, worldwide. ACTA is a secret and not many know.

WITH THE PASSING OF ACTA, EVERY WEBSITE THAT MAY LEAD TO FILE SHARING, EX. GOOGLE, YOUTUBE, RAPIDSHARE, GMAIL, ETC WILL BE BLOCKED.

    WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

    DEATH OF THE INTERNET.

    WAKE UP, PEOPLE

WITH ACTA, YOU CAN GO TO JAIL FOR 5 YEARS FOR POSTING A MICHAEL JACKSON SONG ONLINE, 1 YEAR MORE THAN HIS DOCTOR, WHO ALLEGEDLY KILLED HIM

Government needs to sit down and actually think about how to deal with online piracy. The bills SOPA, PIPA and ACTA are so stupid. They just censor everything....

This is getting stupid and confusing now, why does the American government even do all of this?

What a load of utter shite. There is so much horrendous, fucked up stuff happening in the world at the moment and all our so called fucking 'leaders' can do is piss about with seemingly pointless laws that achieve jack shit. ARGH, SO ANGRY.

Just a quick question... If any of these things (SOPA/PIPA/ACTA) actually happen are you likely to get into trouble if you've downloaded music and watched films illegally etc? Because the way that I understand it, only the websites and companies that facilitate internet piracy will get into shit. Am I wrong or right? :L

Oh well, all they're going to see off me is COD4 gameplay and Sythe all year. If you don't go on anything you're not supposed to go on, then what's to worry about? Chances are they won't even look at your history unless you get in trouble with the police with something. I buy all my games and I legally acquire my Music now, so they've come a bit late for me if it passes.

ACTA has been around for a while.
The government doesn't need bills to take down copyright infringing websites, as they've proved time and time again, more recently with Megaupload.

Most ignorant thing you could say. This is their goal, censor the internet, censor talk radio, censor anything that helps people stay informed in what really is going on.

I just saw that this has been signed in Australia too. If anything, I'd have to delete a few songs I've downloaded on my laptop. Does anyone know if things downloaded before this is passed (If it's passed) would count? Or is it only offences after the bill has passed?

This is a funny world we live in.

I'm not worried, I'll just read about the bullshit when it comes and passes.

I couldn't imagine it messing with XBL, but RS (assuming you mean rapidshare) will be gone.

Pretty sure he means RuneScape by RS. And no, RuneScape won't be gone because as far as I know, JaGeX isn't breaking any copyright laws.

Obviously that's true, but if this passes it's going to take place on a MUCH larger scale.
