    Beyond The Universe

According to scientists, the big bang created the universe, and it (the universe) is still expanding at a rapid pace.

Then what is beyond the universe, according to scientist speculations?

Universe is endless, therefore we cannot find its end, ever

Don't go off topic, I was asking for opinions on what's beyond the universe, not if we could find its end.

I think there could be parallel or alternate universes, after our universe. I forgot the physics behind it, but I did a project on it a few years ago and it seemed like a strong possibility.

It's somewhat of a contradiction to say that the big bang created the universe. The universe can be defined as the totality of all existence. What 'caused' the big bang to happen was a singularity. This singularity existed; ergo, the beginning of all of existence was not the Big Bang.

Things like that fascinate me, and I'd like to learn more
but google didn't satisfy me :(

Of course, but this is not a debate regarding the validity of the big bang theory (I'm not much of a supporter myself,) but a discussion about what could be beyond the expanding universe.

Absolutely nothing. Think about it, everything we have ever observed has a limit. Why does the universe all of a sudden get special consideration?

Yeah, it's a difficult concept to grasp. But I find it extremely interesting.

    Beyond The Universe

According to the big bang theory, the universe was once in a very(very very) compressed and hot state, but started to expand and cool down, which is the universe that we have now.

If that could happen once, why not twice?

Fourth dimensions, parallel universes, wormholes... I should have studied my math and phsyics lol

    Beyond The Universe

Well, in order for another Big Bang to happen, the conditions must be replicated. It is impossible to identically replicate them as since the universe is a closed system, potential energy has decreased. Even if it is possible for the universe to expand then regress, then re-expand, each re-expansion would be weaker. It would be like dropping a bouncy ball onto a ground, where with each bounce, the ball doesn't quite reach the same height until it eventually remains stationery on the ground.

If it happened once, could it happen again? Sure. This doesn't really address the issue of what lies outside the borders of the universe.

If the volume of the universe is increasing through expansion, then it's implied that the Universe is finite. If the volume of the universe however is not increasing, yet we still observe the phenomena of expansion, then it can be inferred that the Universe is infinite.

Oh sorry, I misread your first post.
Since you seem to know a lot, I'm going to ask

then what existed before the universe as we know it today? In thoery, of course.

(note: You can say God, I wouldn't mind, I'm just hear to listen to your opinions :) )

    Beyond The Universe

Imo I think the universe was created by superior beings, and maybe one day Mankind can create their own universe. But as for our universe expanding, I believe the universe is 1 of many many universes that are contained in a...force field( only word i can think of for it right now) and one universe that is near our very own has a gravitational pull that is making our own universe expand towards it. If you thought the universe was massive you haven't seen shit. All the secrets of the universe are out in space and i feel like it's our duty to find them. Think about our world in 100 years and how far we would be in space exploration, Possible housing in space, or at least some sorts of cruises on a mother ship. And that's just 100 years, now think about where we are gonna in 1000 years, I'm thinking time travel into the future..space and time warp... new planets in which we are gonna inhabit. I just wish i am there to see it all progres.

    Beyond The Universe

I haven't researched it, but my common sense tells me (if big bang is correct): the universe is not a big elliptical bubble as you all seem to see it as. It's a cluster of trillions of galaxies, and beyond the very last galaxy is just the vacuum of space with an absence of stars and galaxies. The oldest galaxies form the ever expanding perimeter of the cluster, but that doesn't mean the space beyond is any different than the space between stars inside the universe. And then that leaves the possibility open for more physical universes to exist as diverse as two galaxies that exist side-by-side.

    Beyond The Universe

Well, if you define the universe as the totality of all existence, it's like asking what exists before existence? Nothing. Existence has always existed, and it's proof is axiomatic. So the universe by definition of all that existence must have always existed for if it never existed, then nothing other than but nothingness could spawn it, but everyone rejects the premise that something cannot come from nothing, in which case the existence exists axiom still isn't violated.

That's not true. Pi, e, Rho, plenty of numbers are irrational and have no limits.
(A circle can also be represented as an infinite number of straight lines, a line is a circle with an infinite radius, etc. )

Anyways, I personally think that we live in a multiverse, where our universe is to the multiverse like a galaxy is to our universe. (If you get my analogy).

It just doesn't make sense that at one point, a singularity decided to appear, and it then decided to expand. (The big bang). I think that there was always something there before. What it was, I don't know.

Numbers do not exist in reality, they are abstractions; more specifically, abstract objects. Also, if a circle can be said to be an infinite number of straight lines, then it is impossible for a circle to be finite (enclosed) We know that circles are finite.
