I do not get how come you pay so much for one year insurance when you could simply buy three cars for such an amount? Or I do not get something?

Apparently in the UK insurance for teens is ridiculous. The main reason, is obviously since they're teen drivers they don't have near as much experience, thus a higher chance to get into a wreck. Which is why insurance cost more. However, compared to the insurance rates of teens in the US, the Uk's is pretty stupid.

25 and under is the risky band that insurance companies assume are more riskier than over 25s that is why insurance prices for them is very high, and that is also another reason why there are alot of people that drive uninsured because they can buy a car for £500 to £1000 and just drive it without paying unbelievable amounts in insurance

There are some companies which charge a variable amount depending on how well you drive. Part of this agreement includes having a tracking device installed on your car, so the insurance company can see how you are driving and where you are driving. The price will still be sky high, since your a teenager.

Btw, I'm sure that if you get the insurance in your parent's name it won't be fraud, as long as they declare it properly.

I'm the first driver in my family, but i got my aunty or uncle that i can use to go under their name, but the fact is that if i have an accident and i am driving it and they realise i am the main driver then i am done for fraud.

Yeah i know it is illegal but that is why people do it because they find that there is no point paying 4 or 5 times the cars value just to drive it.

Congratulations mate! Well done! Some insurance companies do this deal where they fit this tracking device thing to the car and it records how fast you drive, rates your cornering and general driving and also when you drive the car. They work out the cost from the data on the device. My mates brother has it and he's really pleased, it saves him a lot of money. The only downside is that they don't like you to drive after 11pm.

Yeah the time limit at that time im sleeping so no problemo but i dont like the idea of them watching my every move... wen i get the car i want to test it and rev it etc.. not so that they can check and say no good and increase the premium price

Surely that's not right. In Australia, I found it's around $1500-$2000 for the year.

Regardless, congratulations on passing your test :) 6 months till I'll be trying to pass mine :S
