Megaupload shut down

One of the largest file hosting sites, Megaupload, has been shut down. Damn... it was such a useful website as well.

Only another bajillion online storage sites to use. No biggie.

Plus look at the offences, money laundering, racketeering, this isn't against piracy alone.

 

There are plenty of other sites like it that are bigger and better, such as Fileplanet or RapidShare. It won't really effect things much being gone.

 

And even though the US managed to get search warrants executed in 8 separate countries, it still thinks it needs SOPA...

 

Wow, some big news can't believe it shut down I used it a lot.

No seriously though, this entire SOPA thing is just insane. I can't believe what is happening to the internet right now.

 

That's a shame. I abused that site so much last year in halls of residence.

Woah, I used to use this two years ago when I didn't know what torrents were hehe. Oh well, there's always Rapidshare or torrents.

 

There are still plenty of alternatives, but wow, Megaupload was one of the bigger File-Sharing sites out there.

Lame as fuck. I never noticed how much I download from ML until it got shut down lol. Just today I had to spend a ton of time trying to find files on different file sharing sites after I couldn't just get them from ML...

took them long enough. But no point of taking just down one website. fifty more will replace it by the end of today.

 

I'm more angry about the shutdown of MegaVideo. Fuck.

I'm happy Anonymous is taking on the battle.
Anonymous should make a global system where they can by-pass and use other people their computers for more powerful attacks.

Simply a install file, that puts a gate open, so they could use your internet traffic / RAM memory to become more powerful

Lol, I think I died a little inside when I heard. I love Megavideo....seriously watched everything on there. So sad to see it go.

 

Yeah saw this on the news, they were arrested here in New Zealand. I don't like the fact 'anonymous' is taking it upon themselves to seek out justice... the law is the law.

 

I do believe Anon has good intentions, but I am with you John - the law is the law. We may not agree with it but for better or worse we really can't do anything about it.
