Can you touch type?

yes....if by touch type you mean type without looking at the keyboard...

I think anyone who uses the computer on a regular basis can...or at least should be able to.

 

Yes its very easy. But it took me about a year.of practice to perfect it.

Yes, I am a very fast typer so I am able to do that pretty well.

 

Yeah, fairly well. Runescape is what did it for me. I played it for quite a long period of time and just ended up being able to type fast. Only good thing that game did for me... :L

Yes thankfully. It's pretty useful when I'm staying up late working on essays. I can just lean my head back and close my eyes and let my fingers do all the work. I can usually get through an entire paragraph making at maximum 1-2 mistakes.

 

Yes, I was required to learn this from an early age, but I still haven't perfected it.

 

Yeah, known how too since i was in like 5th grade, and i type pretty fast

 

I used to be able to hunt and peck at 50WPM, which was faster than all the touch-typers in my typing class
I can 75% touch type now. I can do it pretty fast, I just make shitloads of typos

 

im typing this sentence with touchtype. i can do it perfectly,it all depends on the keyboards you are used to,obviously someone cant do it on a keyboard theyve never used before.

 

Basically this, I don't do traditional typing but I don't need to look at the keyboard and have no trouble typing pretty damn fast.

 

I learned how to touch type with my two index fingers since like 5th grade. I get like 110ish WPM this way, not too bad.

 

I'm typing this message without looking, so I guess I can do it fairly well, but I'm not incredible at it.

 

I am like many people on here as most people can touch type I think and I took a class at a young age but I do not use the correct form at all and it use to piss my teacher off but I was one of the fastest kids in my class.

 

Yea, mostly people take computer class to learn how to do this type of thing. It comes so naturally I barely notice. XD

 

Have been able to since I was 12. Nearly 16 now, in less than a month, so it's been quite awhile since I've had to look at the keyboard. The only key I really have a problem hitting is ;, instead I always end up hitting '.

I think my average typing rate is around 100 GWAM? Give or take depending on the words I'm typing really.

 

I think I'm at a 98%. I make a couple mistakes every now and then.

 

Yes. I can also type at a speed of 145+ WPM. Faster than anybody I know.

 

Touch type = muscle memorization. Its actually easier and quicker to touch type. If your looking down at your keyboard your thinking about more than just the motions to hit the keys you need. Quicker than looking while you type for sure. (I want to blow my head off when I see people typing with both hand using only there pointer fingers)
