Great guide, however you see when people box stake and sometimes they click block when the opponent attacks, does that actually make the opponent hit lower?

 

When you throw on the defensive attack when your opponent attacks you, it gives you an invisible +3 defensive bonus. That +3 bonus helps you protect yourself from his attacks, which in turn, makes him hit lower on you.

Isn't the storm of Armadyl spell the best to use in mage boxing duels nowadays? Does someone know approximate chances to win/lose in storm of Armadyl vs ancient magics duel?

 

I personally do not mage box anymore, but I have heard that using blood spells is better than using SoA, because the healing factor. I have personally never tested the difference between the 2, so I can only give you an answer I have heard from somewhere else.

You should update the mage boxing section to include information about storm of armadyl so that people using your guide don't get ravaged when they give it a try.

 

I don't understand the point of writing staking guide unless you both don't stake and really dislike stakers. Staking is close to zero-sum. If you tell someone else how to win more stakes, then current stakers (perhaps including you) win fewer and more people won't fight current stakers. This used to be less of an issue with tons of people at the arena, but now arena is so inactive that another 100m+ staker added to the arena leads to a significant drop in profits.

That aside, this does an ok job telling a total newcomer the basics of staking. Additions that would make it more thorough are nonobvious aspects of some rule sets, as well as inclusion of different rules e.g. rangeboxing

 

The PiD section was pretty handy, though I did find that the information regarding the scams was also very interesting! I should look out for those things now. Especially the I's and l's.
