Star Wars: The Old Republic Earns A Record; Keeps Building On Success With Update 1.1

Recently deemed by Guinness World Records as the sole proprietor of the ‘Largest Entertainment Voice Over Project’ in history, Bioware’s breakout MMORPG isn’t slowing down as it brings version 1.1 to the forefront.

Proudly touting it’s latest award, Star Wars: The Old Republic has been given merit for it’s compiled 200,000+ lines of recorded dialogue, executed by hundreds of voice actors. Building on the momentum of the record, Bioware clearly has no intention of slowing yet.

Selling into the greater than 2 million unit mark, Bioware’s well received MMO will expand to version 1.1, as the first official expansion hits test servers today. As part of a long list of changes in the upcoming patch, SW:TOR will see changes in it’s open world PvP interaction on the end-game planet Ilum, as well as “a new Flashpoint, Kaon Under Siege, and four new boss additions to Operation: Karagga’s Palace,” Bioware states.

Jedi Knights can breathe more easily in the coming patch, as interactions with companion Kira Carsen will now properly award affection, allowing for access to areas in the game where Datacrons were otherwise out of reach. Many fixes will also be applied to Flashpoints and Operations as the patch hits the general public – though no word on when that date can be confirmed just yet.

For complete details on the upcoming patch, check out the preliminary notes as they currently run on the test server, provided on the official SW:TOR forums.

Nice. Good to see they are already working on fairly large patches/updates.

Yeah, this gets me excited about their potential. Surely the company is raking in dollars, but they are also expanding on the content early, which is awesome for those users who could be waning at level 50. Constant updates in this way will be required in order to keep subscriptions alive.

1.1 should be good- the current raids are way too easy so some more ops should be fun!

a level 50 bracket and nerfing biochem are also a step in the right direction for pvp- just need to tone done operative damage
