I actually had to look up what the hell that meant: http://snpr.cm/uZjZW2.png
What implies that I listen to them? I've only said in about 30-40 other posts that Lil wayne has to be the shittiest musician known.

How do you know that I know nothing about? You can ask ANY white kid in the world who is the best rapper in the world - "OMG EMINEM AND TUPAC AND BIGGIE DUHH XDDD"

Nas, big L, Big Pun, Jedi mind tricks, Mos def, KRS one, Mobb Deep, Wu-tang, Rakim, AZ, Ill bill.

That is what you can call good rap. It appears that YOU sir don't know what you're talking about and you're assuming by someone saying that Tupac is overrated that they're stupid. When Tupac, Eminem, and Biggy are the most overrated individuals in hiphop ever.

I never said they were shit, I said they are OVERRATED.

I realllllyyy dont agree with you on this. I doubt youve even heard most of his songs for you to come to that conclusion. He has deep meaning to his songs. Its not solely based on the musical aspect of it, but the emotions and poetry in the music. Do you think if he would have wrote poems that he wouldve gotten as many people to hear his message? I know you probably wont give him much of a chance anyway since you seem to have a sturdy opinion about him:s.

    btw rip my nigga

Once again, where did I say he was shitty? I said he was mad overrated.
I didn't once say that I don't listen to him or anything. I said he was OVERRATED. Because he is, there are so many other artists that deserve way more respect than tupac.

    Ok you asked for it.

To understand the levels that tupac reached, you have to understand his accomplishments. Firstly, he sold 75 million albums. Secondly, you have to understand what Tupac rapped about. He basically rapped about his generation, and that's what made him special. When you listen to his song you get a recount of what it was like growing up in the 80s. Thirdly, Tupac was very intelligent, he recorded music on the basis that they be released in the future when an event occurred, even if he wasn't there to see it. Fourthly, Tupac talked about issues that no other big-time rapper talked about (Ex Brendas got a Baby, Keep ya head up). Fifthly, Tupac feuded against the east coast almost single-handedly. Sixth reason: He wrote all his songs himself. Seventh, he recorded his music very quickly, All eyes on me was recorded in something like a week. Eight, Tupac didn't only rap about killing people, being a gangster, shit like that, like most other rappers at his time did. Ninth, Tupac died within five years of releasing his debut album. We hadn't seen his best, because he was killed. It's in the same regard as people hold John Lennon, Sid Vicious, Freddie mercury, etc.

You know who you remind me of, those dickheads who want to stand out and say semi-famous rappers are better, not because they listen to their music at all but because they just want to fucking stand out.

As a rapper, Tupac wasn't the best, sure other rappers have better lyricism and have a tighter flow. But as a musician, nobody comes close.

BTW, why single out white people and hint that their the only ones who listen to those three artists, I'm sure a lot of black people like those three too. Just goes to prove you know very little about rap, since you feed into the bullshit that you have to be black to really appreciate rap

    Go away.

im not trying to convince you to like him more or anything im just wondering your logic. Sure alot of people knew about Tupac, because he touched many people. Alot of other artists have talent too and i respect them a lot too but they didnt take it to the level Tupac did and didnt come the same way. I want to know what other artists deserve more respect than him and why you think so?

Also i doubt you knew exactly what he was doing or that you even gave him a chance because of his popularity. Hail Mary as you stated is your favorite song by him, but there are hundreds of other songs by him that have a much deeper meaning. Did you know he was working on forming a whole new political party for the minorities? And by you saying Hail Mary it gives me the impression that you REALLY dont know anything about the man and that you just judged him off of your first impression.

Im not downing your opinion, you can like whoever you want. But your comment makes it seem like youre saying "Fuck him, i think someone else should have that shine". I agree alot of other artists deserve alot more credit, but thats what makes them so good, because they arnt in the spotlight. Tupac made it into the spotlight and still kept his message, although he didnt even have nearly as much popularity he had when he was alive than after he died. A lot of people are bandwagon and dont understand what he was really aiming for. once again i want to know who you think deserves more respect and why?

I said nothing about needing to be black to appreciate hip hop. I implied the ten year old white kids.

Once again you are having a hard time reading what I said, I never said I didn't like those 3. I simply called them over rated, stop dick riding.

I enjoy how people assume because I don't think he's the "greatest rapper of all time" that I know nothing about him. I knew for a fact that someone would start raging extremely hard at me for what I said. It's quite funny really.

Go listen to some other rappers, I promise you that you'll think differently when you say tupac is the greatest.

@ post above me, Where did I say I didn't like him? I said that people who obsess over his music and call him the greatest need to listen to some other, much better rappers. Do people not understand what the word overrated means?

It means - Someone who is given way too much respect / ratings when others deserve more yet do not have.

Go ahead and tell me I don't know what good rap is - http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1250007

why are you taking it as if im fighting you :p. I never said you didnt like him or that he was the greatest, i have a couple other people that i think deserve more respect and or an equal amount of respect as him. I just dont think he is overrated and deserves the place he has. I never said you didnt know what good rap is either. I just want to know why you think he is overrated and who would you put in his place if you could.

I also agree with you on the thread you made(http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1250007). I dont listen to any of them either and i dont like their music, but im not saying fuck them lol. Why are you upset about it, just let them do them. People will always listen to bad music :p.

You should read my post again though.

LOL you've done absolutely nothing to prove me wrong.

I never said you knew nothing about Tupac, I said you're one of those kids who convinces themselves they know more about rap because they listen to "Real rap" which in reality is bunch of people who may have had good rhythm, flow and lyricism but never made it.

I do listen to people other than Tupac, actually a lot of the ones you've listed are artists I listen to (I am EXTREMELY fond of Nas and Rakim). What you did was list a bunch of 90s misfits who's music didn't match their generation, and then claimed they were better than Tupac.

Okay, if they were better, than why didn't they sell 75 million albums. Like I said, they may have had better Rhythm, flow and lyricism, but they weren't a better musician. P.S if Tupac was alive till now he would've sold well over 150 million albums. Please don't reply to this, spare yourself.

At the moment i only have like 15 tupac songs, but before my computer was reformatted I had a lot more.

And whoever said young money is overrated, I definitely agree. I'd classify them as "Hip-POP"
