    Hey everyone,

I'm Hotpursuit/Aidan and I've been playing wow for a really long time now, I've amounted a lot of level 85 characters in this time and I've raided most end-game content this is just a little guide explaining a few basic things to help you sink into the world of warcraft with ease :)

    So you've just hit
    [IMG]

First of all well done, especially if you've done it before because that's a hell of a lot of quests!

If you were like me, you're probably now wondering wtf you're supposed to do to look as cool as the majority of players around you.

    There is 2 routes:

    PVE (Player vs Enviroment
    PVP (Player vs Player)

Read this if you chose PVE as your route (if not skip down to the PVP bit)

Nice one you chose PVE! now onto explaining the basics -

As a PVE player you will first of all be doing dungeons to acquire entry level PVE gear, this isn't the what PVE is about and don't be put off by the grinding associated with it. It's simply the easiest way to fast track to the fun stuff, which is raiding :)

    So you're in a dungeon,

You'll find yourself killing bosses in 5man groups, each boss kill grants you the chance of winning a piece of gear.

Alongside the gear you will receive:

    - Justice Points per boss kill
    - Valor Points for completing the dungeon itself

Justice points buy decent gear, (ilvl 378 Patch 4.3) this is more than good enough to get you're DPS/Healing/Tanking good enough to raid the latest content. Especially when combined with the Valor Point gear you will get slowly over time (there is a weekly cap to how much of these you can recieve).

Give it a few weeks and you should see yourself wearing full ilvl 378 gear which is hopefully good for your class/spec. Which isn't always the case, I can't count how many times I've seen new players needing any piece of gear which lets them do so YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE IT IS GOOD FOR YOU.

I'll give you the basics here:

If you're a hunter, you need ~ Mail with Agility on it ~

If you're a paladin ~ Plate ~ , you need plate gear - Holy Spec: Look for intellect Protection Spec: Look for the extra stats/socket bonuses which show this is a tanking piece (Dodge,Parry,Mastery you are aiming for) Retribution Paladin: Look for Crit,Haste,Hit,Mastery,Expertise - ANYTHING WITHOUT Dodge & Parry.

Deathknights - ~ Plate ~ Blood: You're a tank, get tanking stats: (Dodge,Parry,Mastery you are aiming for) Unholy/Frost: You're dps, get gear without the above although Mastery may be good for you also.

Warriors: Protection you're tank: (Dodge,Parry,Mastery you are aiming for)
    Arms/Fury, you're dps - don't get dodge/parry.

If you're a shaman you need ~ Mail gear ~ Enhancement: look for agility on your mail gear, if it doesn't have it that piece isn't for you.
Elemental/Restoration, go for intellect on your mail - individual stat priorities can be found later on in the guide.

    Rogue - ~ Leather with Agility ~

Warlock ~ Cloth with intellect - NO SPIRIT ~

Priest ~ Cloth with Intellect ~

Mage ~ Cloth with intellect ~

As mentioned earlier, this isn't all you're looking for Individual stat priorities can be found here: www.Noxxic.com - Find your class/spec and work on it :)

Your Route to Raiding : Dungeon/Justice Point Gear ---> Valor Point/Raid Gear

    PVP Guide will go here:

    (Work in progress)

Read only begining cba with rest,
I hit 80 3 days after LK expansion cus was racing my friend who played WoW since vanilla and i only played since 2 weeks before LK expansion just to prove I was already on his level. So me and him raced, he won by 3 hours since epic mount and mine only was 60% still and we beat all of our friends to 80 ANYWAYS

you mentioned saying "what am i suppose to do now?"
thats exactly what me and my friend said once we hit 80, but since we hit 80 so fast we actually had nothing to do since everyone else was still leveling up lol.

Great guide. I know nearly everyone is confused on the whole raiding and heroic routine when the hit max level. This helps a lot on really what to do and where to go.
