If this is passed, you can probably kiss sythe.org goodbye, as it infringes on the copyright of Jagex LTD. You can bank on it that they'll fully utilize this new bill to bring down all cheating sites.

Yes, and because there are many runescape private servers amongst the site. These steal copyrighted scripts that Jagex legally own

I entered my postal code and it doesn't recognize the area.. I live in Canada, but I would like to try and take action anyways if possible!

I heard about this bill a few months ago and we all have the power to stop this from happening if everybody does their part

 

Wont let me in from Australia. Though I highly doubt anything will happen solely because Jagex needs RWT sites and anything that keeps players around.

 

Will this only affect Americans? If so, if we moved the server to england...

 

I think sythe lives in aus anyway, so it will probs only block usa users

Jagex is already systematically attacking those sites that it can. See: fagex.net and "fuck jagex.net", two sites of moderate size-- fagex.net being exceptionally large in its "golden age" a while ago-- both brought down, and URLS being redirected to jagex.com

Also, there are about average 200 people active here. Factor in 500 total from all the sites like this combined who's active userbase ACTUALLY plays runescape. Now look at the number of online runescape users, which is usually in excess of 45,000 players. They don't need us.

Plus, without so much cheating; skilling, money making, the economy, all things that would be better off for legit users

@Everyone. The latest SOPA bill makes it so that it does not include any websites hosted within the US. That means Sythe is safe even if this bill is stupid.

 

So because Sythe is hosted in the US it's safe? What about sites that would have been hosted in England etc?

Thanks for this! But it is not working for me

I tried using a fake area code like "90210" like Moh suggested, but it wants more information.. such as a street name or an extension on the area code. I even went to google maps and looked up the area and tried a few different names or larger, probably well known streets and so far nothing is working.

If someone can supply me with the area information I will vote.

EDIT: Entered a random number for the extension and it worked :laugh:

 

Ok wait, Ive seen so many different posts about this. Will someone please explain to me who this will directly effect? I live in the USA, North Carolina will I be effected by this? Or will Sythe be effected? I did it anyway but im just wondering. Thanks

Weren't those taken down because they used the word "jagex" which was copyrighted by jagex but sythe doesn't use "jagex" in the url. I believe anything that includes "RS" or "jagex" which isn't authorized by jagex is considered copyright. I remember if u searched jagex in google, fj use to come up with jagex's website.
