I wholeheartedly agree, this really shouldn't be a site issue.

I sold Kodak 52m a couple weeks ago and we agreed on like 0.55$/M.
    52*0.55=$28.60
It turned out he didn't pay for the fee's which resulted into getting like $27.80 which is 1,5 cents less per mill..

When I saw the payment he told me he couldn't cover the fee's but he didn't saw that beforehand. It's just 1$ really but it adds up when selling higher amounts and when you keep missing out on a couple bucks.

I didn't realise that I had to say that he should pay the fee's. We agreed on 0.55$/M and you don't expect to lose a couple bucks because of some unmentioned fee's.
I personally think it's a cheap tactic of the bigger gold buyers to make more profit.

Just state it on your gold selling / buying thread. Also make sure to say just a line 'I don't cover fees ok?' in your msn log. Problem should be solved by that.

The amount agreed on should be received by you 100%, netto.

This is simply how I see it, unless they say in their thread for example (0,75$/m - fees will go off)

Disagree, it should be expected that paypal will have fees, no solely provided payment method will be exempt from fees as they need to make money. If a buyer were to have to pay these fees, it would be subtracted from the price anyways.

By using paypal, it should be acknowledged that there will be fees for you to use the privilege of receiving instant online payments, in other words, it's not the buyers fault. If one is so concerned about fees, they should ask before expecting a free payment by the payment provider.

Well when you get accustomed to taking no fees with gift/payment owed, then a buyer comes in with services and you hit a 3%+ fee, and they don't even alert you, it can be more than agitating.

I don't think it needs to be put into the rules or have a sticky, like everyone else has said just tell the sell//buyer that you're not willing to pay the fees on your thread or post. I've always seen Sythe as a website which allows a buyer to find a seller, or vice versa. But not as someone who babysits all the trades and makes sure they are panned out perfectly and there are no issues.

The thing is, there's no rule to make people have to tell them or post it on their thread. How are you missing that concept?

But there doesn't need to be a rule. I'm saying the rule shouldn't be implemented because it will honestly just come to be a waste of staff time trying to maintain it. If someone wants to make there traders know they need to pay the fees, by all means tell them, but it shouldn't be forced. If someone doesn't clarify who's handling the fees, I believe it's there mistake.

I can get what you're saying, make it a rule and no-one has to worry about the issue again, but then sticky's need to be implemented and the stickies won't be read and it will just turn into another chore for the moderators which they shouldn't have to worry about. (At least, in my opinion.)

Stickies are all that need to be added. It wouldn't take much to add them. Gold traders will read them, and that's all that needs to be done. So they know what they have to do.

Also, you really can't expect a guy that's sold gold to other seller, they paid through paypal with gift and they always took fee. They sell to a chinese person, must take a 4% fee, and it be THEIR fault, because the chinese didn't make them aware. Why would the seller think any different, as where the chinese gold buyer flat out knows. Explain to me how a sticky would be a waste of time, if it does any good at all, it's an improvement.

I agree there should be a sticky in the Market section, I got hit with a $20 paypal fee and the buyer just kept saying he didn't know the exact price it was going to be

This is a direct copy from my buying thread. I can give payment to my sellers in many different ways, however whichever method they choose its their responsibility to pay fee's. Aka I could put cash in a golden Build-a-bear and send it to Tanzania on a private jet if the seller wants, but I'm not going to pay for it.

If I did cover fee's 1 of 2 things would happen. Either the price would just be modified so you're still covering the fee's and we'd both be getting the exact same amount or it would just be completely unprofitable and no one would sell gold. Neither really helps anyone.

Pretty much this. You are responsible for the contents of your trade.

I realise that, but I think we agreed to something like 40$ and in the end I got like 38.50$. It's not that big of a trade but the fee's weren't mentioned during the trade. In this case we agreed 40$ but in the end I got 38.50$ as an example.

It's my own fault of course but it's a good example of what the OP meant.

If you say that 50M is $50 for example, they pay $50, not $54, as that's what fees would be. Implement it into your prices....
