    Closing thread posts?

I've have seen quite a few posts that have this clause at the end of the page, "Answered." To me this is spam, mods and other trusted people and even some non trusted people are getting 8 letter posts that don't do anything at all for the thread therefore I think they should be considered spam. There should be some way for mods to close it without getting post count. If you have anything to comment/add on just reply. Thanks guys for considering my suggestion.

We can close threads without posting. Generally we post the reason so people know why.

    Answered.

But Clash has a point, instead of just closing it and not saying anything they drop you a line and say why.

    Closing thread posts?

I've seen people get mad or post asking why a thread was closed. The last post just has the reason, like Kero and Superman did with my threads when I went on vacation.

    No support.

It's not that much of a big deal. One extra post to clarify an extra situation isn't an issue. Postcount doesn't even matter too much.

Going to try hard not to do it here although everyone else has summed up the reason already.

Most cases we'll post a quick post on a thread while we close it just so the OP or other users don't wonder why the thread was closed initially. If it were answered, we'll post a quick "Question's been answered. Closed" and close the thread. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
