Do you speak multiple languages?

Yes or no? If you can, what languages? I'm able to speak English and Dutch.

(I mean fluently, not "I know a little Spanish from school").

 

I can speak English and Cantonese (though I can't read or write it).

 

i can speak english and spanish. But im better at understanding spanish than talking it.

 

6 Languages
- English (Learned at school, have a proper education for it)
- French (Learned at school, in the French immersion program, took math, science, social studies, French classes all the way to grade 10, now the program is just French class and social studies, can read/write)
- Vietnamese (First language learned growing up, my parents taught me this, can't say I have a proper education for it, have limited writing/reading skills)
- Cantonese (Took Cantonese Classes every Sunday from 4 till 14 years of age (missed 2 years though), proper education, can read/write)
- Mandarin (Took Mandarin classes every Tuesday from 4 till 12 years of age, also learned a lot from grand father when I had to live with him at 13 for a year in Vancouver, can read/write)
- Korean (Motivated to learn from friends, self taught, technology is amazing, took me 2 years, I can read/write a little, I've only ever dated Korean girls, lol.)

My parents made my sisters and I absorb a lot when we were little. It was extremely tedious and felt like quitting A LOT, but looking back today I'm extremely grateful for my parents forcing my sisters and I in these programs. Saying you can understand 6 languages open up a lot of doors for you.

I've taken two courses in American Sign Language, but do not remember much other than the alphabet. Also a tad bit of Spanish within the family, but not enough for a conversation (not motivated enough to learn it).

This does not apply to the question on this thread, however, I am currently learning Japanese. My reading and writing is limited, especially Kanji (Chinese derivative characters) and I do intend on learning more to speak, read and write it fluently.

 

English, Danish and German (I don't speak fluent german tho)

 

I only speak English.. Kind of wish I had continued to learn French when I was younger, being multi-lingual is something that appeals to me. Ah well..

Had Jap classes in primary school but found it very hard when the teachers just concentrated on the smart kids.
