So what if there was say

    2-4 guys (or girls)

that shared 1 account and say if there were 4 of them each played 6 hours a day of hardcore skilling, they all took shifts and played at different times so the account would be skilling at a good 100% rate 24/7

DEN DEY CUD GET A LOT OF XPS AND BREAK RECORDS@!?@!?

AND THEN BEAT SUOMI TO 200M ALL SKILLS.GF.

but seriously do you think this is happening at the moment, or will happen in the near future. I personally think it will start to happen due to the botting issue and also to the fact that JaGeX dont even care about account sharing tbh, its just a rule they have in place but they never take any action/severe action.

    kThanks sexies.

    NOTE-

it has been rumoured 'Skiller 703' account shares and he has a 100m thieving xp record and gains like 9-10m agility weeks + was first to 99 dung. :) BUT HE COULD ALSO BE A 1337 N0 L1F3R.

I find it hysterical if anyone is too still compete for the #1 rank on the high-scores....
And that's how a lot of people maxed their accounts back in the day and more then likely are still doing so.

This would only work if they all stayed in same household, regular multiple ip logins = login / ban for sharing.

What TxT said. Your highly likely to get banned if the account is logged on 24/7 from 4 different IP's.

Haha I love your reasoning OP.

But I'd say Runescape will meet its drawn-out, advertisement-supported and, I'll say it, timely end before account sharing effectively replaces botting -- which would mean the game was solely sustained by cheaters. Ah well, reporting in I suppose.

Pics or it didn't happen. Last I saw, before the bot nuke, they banned like 10k bots per day through ip's. And it didn't take them 10 years, it took them like 2, bots really were peaking then and they actually tried. We underestimate jagex too much, im afraid.

and you're apparently underestimating them, as I dare you to find 1 game that has little or no bots, the only games you will find that are like this are either failed games that no one plays or is a new game that no one knows about. If there is money to be made there will be people who bot it.

It's not like there is a special button they can push at any time to stop botters. The only reason botting isn't\wasn't as bad as other games was for the fact that most games are downloadable which in return usually have hack shields etc. which make it harder to create a bot with enough fail safes, where jagex making browser based games do not have this same ability. Also the fact that the game is cheap and extremely cheap for membership also provides more botters especially with rs gp being worth more than most other games in ratio wise to what you can make a day.

It's been done before, but I'm not sure to the extent that you're talking about for a long period of time.

Possible, but unlikely that there will be a commitment for that long. Also, someone's going to have the devil speaking to them on their shoulder and they'll steal the account.

Because they had to completely re-do their client.

If you knew anything about programming you would know that its no easy task

Sorry, but this is simply untrue... Canadian Internet Providers only provide dynamic IPs to avoid web/file hosting without a premium business service. So, my IP changes daily.

I know 3 brothers in real life who are doing this right now with a newly created account. They have gotten 99 Mining in under a month.

I wish I had a little brother sometimes that I could trust. Would be awesome to have him train my account while i'm away. x D
