You can use http://www.textplus.com/ to get a number if you have an ipod touch. I just did it 5 minutes ago. I don't know why that wouldn't work for UK people

 

Did it really work? I tried on my phone and it didnt but i guess that because its a phone

 

I just tested it doesn't work for Ipods you can sign up but you don't receive a bonus and your can't invite people.

 

You enter email and then give them a phone number to either text or call, if you choose text then they give you a verification link if you choose call then they give you a random assortment of numbers. All very simple and straightforward. You can get the $5 amazon gift card and then delete the app

 

How many times have you done this? I will try again but i did exactly that and it doesn't work
