    [Noob-Friendly] Recover Deleted Files [Freeware]

Have you ever emptied your recycle bin and wanted to get a file back? Well, I did not too long ago. Deleted some of my PSD's for my graphics shop, and this program helped me out. In my opinion this is the best freeware to recover files by far.

    __________________________________

STEP 1: Head over to http://www.piriform.com/recuva - you'll find software there named Recuva by Piriform Ltd.

STEP 2: Download the free version from Piriform. You can save it anywhere. Once it is done downloading, install the program to your liking.

STEP 3: Once the installation is complete, go ahead and click "Finish" and run Recuva.

STEP 4: If you want to search all types of files, go ahead and click "Other" - If you want to be more specific with the types of files you search, go ahead and choose to search for a catagory in particular.

STEP 5: If you're going to be searching your whole PC (recommended) for something you lost, or deleted, just choose the default "I'm not sure" - It'll search your whole PC. If you wanted to search anywhere else such as a flash drive or in a certain location, try to narrow it down with the selections it gives you, or just select "In a specific location" and choose the location that you'll be performing the search.

STEP 6: Now it's time to search. Go ahead and press "Start" - If you want to enable Deep Scan, you can, but this is optional.

STEP 7: After it is done searching to your specifications, you will will see a huge list of things. Just click on the file you were searching for, and if it is recoverable, press "Recover..."

    SOME ADDITIONAL TIPS:
    * Some, if not most, of the things on this list will be very useless to you when searching for something you deleted.

    * A very recent file that you've deleted wont show it's file name, it will instead be replaced by a bunch of random characters. It will help you find the item you were looking for by sorting it by Date Modified, and trying to remember the last time you interacted with that file.

If you are talking about 'nuking' a hard drive with a program then I doubt it. A complete wipe usually writes back over the old data a couple of times....

It is possible to recover files deleted by using Shift+Delete keys or from recycle bin. I recovered by deleted files by using file recovery software. You too can download the software and try it.

Hard drive data recovery software is the best recovery tool, which i have used to restore deleted data from my hard drive. This software can recover data, which has been emptied from Recycle bin. This software is able to recognize and recover different types of files based on their unique signature. This software supports FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5 and ExFAT formatted partitions. First, you can download free demo version, where you can see list of recovered data. If you find lost or accidentally deleted data in that recovered data list then you can use full version of this software to save recovered data.

Very well versed with three different data recovery modes like Quick Scan, Extensive Scan and File Trace, Kernel for Windows Data Recovery software is best option to restore the data lost from computer's hard disk.

Wow - I thought after deleting stuff from the recycle bin it was gone forever!

I'm going to sleep now, but I've already downloaded and installed this and I have some old files that I deleted a while back that I'd like back. Nice guide though, really handy :)
