How do YOU make your gold?

Apologies if this kind of thread already exists, couldn't find one in search.

So yeah, do you have any specific methods that work well for you to make gold? Perhaps you play the AH, use professions, or maybe just level alts.

I personally do the JC shuffle, which involves prospecting ore, transmuting green gems into blue gems then cutting those gems for a profit. I sometimes try to play the AH as well.

 

I recently decided to make a bit of gold and found my Engineering skill to be quite profitable. I had purchased a TON of stacks of Obsidium Bars from someone months back at 5G per. He could farm them extremely quick and was content with the gold he was receiving, although knowing he could get much more. I made some Personal World Destroyer's for good profit. In addition, I made a few Chopper's and turned a decent profit.

I suppose I play the Auction House a bit, but also by use of professions. In the past, I would farm items, but I don't play as often as I used to -to- make it worthwhile.

Also to note: I made well over 10,000 Gold from the above in just 1-2 days with less than 30 minutes of effort.

I've always made gold with the 'farm' sort of methods but recently I picked up and maxed out leatherworking on my hunter.

So I did this method:

Find a leg armour which is overpriced (Dragonscale leg armour in my case)

20x Dragonscale 1x Pristine Hide

I farm enough dragonscales to make 5 armors (takes a while) but you also come out with 1-2 pristine hides if you're lucky plus a lot of savage leather which is great cash to sell/farm alone, even better if you're a leatherworker. . (2 armours for completely free)
They are 800g ea on my server, so I end up making like 2k/hour if I really
get a pace going, plus it's a great way of doing some world pvp and just chilling out whilst making cash without having to rely on luck or anything.

It's just how I'd like to spend my time rather than sitting around in Org/Sw waiting for something to crop up in trade.

Where to farm the dragonscales:



Deepholm
At the Pale Roost, stone giants are throwing rocks and knocking down Stone Drakes. When the drakes land, they will have about 50k HP left. They drop only Savage Leather or Blackened Dragonscale, no leather scraps. The drakes have a really fast respawn rate, and for elites, they are very easy to kill.

I don't play anymore but this is what I used to do and i'm sure in the recent expansion it can still be applied.

Every expansion there is cards associated with the darkmoon faire. I would buy all cards from the AH (assuming they weren't overpriced). Eventually I would have enough to make the decks, which I would sell for a much larger profit. I also would buy the herbs and get the materials that way to make the cards assuming the herbs were cheap. I had one main supplier who didn't speak any english, he would just come up to me and trade me in game and almost accept any amount of gold I traded him

I help lead a very large guild on my realm, so we all make quite a bit through the 10% cash perk.

I personally though will play the Auction house, and utilize my professions. I can make about ~10k a week by making flasks, using my truegold CD and farming herbs. Another very good thing to do is when running heroics, take an enchanter with you and you'll get a crystal or so every run.

I don't recommend this to most, but I flip a ton of items on the AH as well, I totally will dominate my flask market (Buy them all on Monday when they are about 50-60g each, and will re-sell them on Tuesday for 175g a pop), along with certain gems, and materials.

Doing plain dailys as well also is a very good way to earn decent money too.

 

I play the AH and meanwhile I use my professions. I got from 500G to 2K+ in a few days on a lvl 33 druid.

 

bot/transmute army/Darkmoon cards

 

Have a few Shadowfangs.

Have your friend log onto your account from an internet cafe and steal the shadowfangs.

Have a GM restore the shadowfangs.

Have your friend mail them back to you.

Rinse and repeat

 

I'd always just use whatever profession I have. Not too bothered about gold on this game really, it's not really that useful.
