    Slayer's usefulness?

You are getting me wrong, if you do 100 hours on green drags and 100 hours on waterfiends in the end you will have a bit more cb exp, more charms, more money.
If you do 200 hours of slayer you will have less cb exp, less charms and less money.
So you are sacrifing xp for slayer xp, which I find useless. So basically I am prooving slayer to be a detriment for your training. Unless it is something you want to train on, but most people say, bah, I can train slayer for no cost while training summoning and combat, but it costs you xp on those skills. Also to those who say it's great $ and charms, there are WAY better charm monsters and $ monsters. I have yet to see a slayer monster which makes the levelling worth it.

    Slayer's usefulness?

I don't think there is really much use in getting Slayer up on its own, but its one of those skills that goes hand in hand with alot of other skills. Many maxed players attained their CB level from training slayer, as well as a large portion of their wealth. Its great for money making & charm collecting, as well as a fun skill to do when you love PVM but are growing bored of killing the same monsters over and over again.

    Slayer's usefulness?

    I second this .
Soulgazer is a monster within Daemonheim which requires 99 Slayer to kill .
IT drops the very rare HexHunter Bow , which is very good .

    Slayer's usefulness?

Slayer is a very good money maker via herbs/rare drops, can get up to higher level monsters that need slayer to kill e.g. gandromic

it is also very good to train other skills with, Effigys

    Slayer's usefulness?

Everything in this thread has been a rehash of " SLAYER TRAINS ALL MAI SKILLS AND GETS ME CHARMS"

The point of slayer is not that at all. like the poster said, there are much better monsters to kill if you are going for charms, there are much better monsters to kill if you want money, or exp.

Slayer is there for variety in the monsters that you kill,

    Slayer's usefulness?

you do realize that there's a full slay helm that's like all 3 voids in 1 equip slot right? slaying is more efficient than not doing slayer, and not just because of the fact that you are training another skill

    Slayer's usefulness?

Lol, true, it's almost as if people just read the original post before posting, rarely do they read the discussion, below you someone posted that yet again.

As for the slayer helm bonus, it would be a nice excuse to do slayer but that increment is nothing compared to other combat spots, you will never get more combat xp while doing slayer than while training combat alone. I believe this thread has fulfilled it's objective.

    Slayer's usefulness?

If you are an avid dungeoneerer, then 99 Slayer would be a HUGE asset to you, as it will enable you to be able to kill soulgazers in daemonheim and have a chance at recieving a Hexhunter Bow - probably the rarest and most sought after dungeoneering item!

One of my friends actually just recently got 99 slayer, and within 2 months afterwards he got his first Hex :)

    Slayer's usefulness?

A bit off-topic but Born for PvM was once buying one on the RSOF @ 250m .
By this I mean he would rush floors until they found a Gazer .

    Slayer's usefulness?

i agree with him, getting slayer up has no use for "Slayer" but getting it up allows you to kill things that make you money, and you get charms...charms are a big part of summoning so like, if you dont do alot of slayer, you woudn't have as many charms. Slayer can make some real good money :)

    Slayer's usefulness?

The thing about slayer is that you get a attack/strength boosting gear for every combat style, some charms, a bit of money (yea, besides new items, slayer is fail money tbh), and you get to train slayer at the same time. Plus, at 99 you become able to hunt for hexhunters if you're a dungeoneering pro. But I assume that's about it.

P.D. If you read the whole thread, it's all been said, but at least it's not like the "Slayer is mainly for the cape, cash , charms, and combat xp" comment" :L
