    Slayer's usefulness?

Just slayer alone isn't too useful, it's the things you get while training it that are.

Instead of getting them all individually you can just get charms for 99 summoning, all combat stats to 99 and a bit of money from drops and get your prayer + herblore up a bit by using herbicide and bonecrusher. You'll also get quite a few effigies.

Charms, drops, training. I used to slay a lot for the fun of it.

    Slayer's usefulness?

its an efficient way to train your stats and its fun IMO. you can also get cash through it over time. its boring when youre a low level but when you get to a higher level such as 80+ its alot faster. People respect high slayer levels as it takes a long time to train

    Slayer's usefulness?

Money, it makes a shit load of money and helps you obtain 99 summoning. So I value slay quite highly.

    Slayer's usefulness?

Slayer is useful for multiple things. It's an alternative way to train your combat skills and to avoid repetitive hours of grinding at the same monster. While slaying you also get quiet a lot of charm drops/effigies and item drops. I personally like Slayer a lot.

    Slayer's usefulness?

Quite useful for training all other combat skills as well as killing new monsters with a slayer requirement. I'm 99 slayer & I've made quite a bit of money from vine whips & ganodermics when they first came out as well.

    Slayer's usefulness?

Slayer is a great cash reaper at ganodermic beasts! you can even make your own ganodermic from scratch if you have 98 crafting or can get a crafting assist. Abyssal demons arent that good but decent starting cash should you get cleaned.

    Slayer's usefulness?

When I use to do slayer was mostly for a change of monsters to kill. I would get pretty bored just killing the same thing. Like someone else said, it can be useful for money when they release new monsters.

    Slayer's usefulness?

Slayer is just good for training other skills while getting slayer up, also the monsters have very good drops and are good for money making.

    Slayer's usefulness?

Well, if your poor on RS it's pretty good at making you some decent cash, apart from that and summoning and herby, it's not really useful.

    Slayer's usefulness?

This looks like the only reason to, all the other responses seemed to be something like: because it costs nothing to train it at the same time than combat.
Since combat trains faster if you are not picking charms, and combat trains faster while not training slayer, unless slayer proves itself useful, it just isn't worth training, summoning however is very useful. So sacrificing some xp in combat for getting charms makes sense, however sacrificing combat xp for slayer xp never made sense to me.

    Slayer's usefulness?

I find it's something to do. When I want to get combat levels up, I just find a way to get the xp while doing slayer. Works out for both skills then.

    Slayer's usefulness?

If you want shit loads of money with combat, you can do frost dragons or green dragons or anything that will yield more money than slayer in the same alloted time. If you want a shitload of charms you can go to waterfiends or whatever and you'll get a lot more charms. The only point that slayer gets is the new releases thingy.

    Slayer's usefulness?

You're actually both right and wrong . . . Yes , you can easily make more money from Dragons and gain more charms from monsters such as Waterfiends . But Slayer offers all 3 of these options in on skill . I say 3 because you gain money , charms , and combat exp . And also , Slayer receives quite a decent amount of respect due to how hard it is to train .
