Amendment to replying to threads since bumping rule has been updated

Well, when the rule was 1 bump per 24/hours aka per day, you had to wait 24 hours before you could re-bump your thread or wait for someone to reply on it.

Since it has been lowered to 8 hours, shouldn't the same principle be put in motion for replying to your own threads?

I wasn't even aware of there being a message, it must only be for certain forums. It does make more sense to me to add this, so that automatically you are unable to post more than once per 8 hours or until someone else has posted. Support.

Yer i support this as well but i also think the rule should be changed to this

You can only post on your thread every 24 hours, unless someone else has posted on your thread then you can post 8 hours after your previous post

Confusing i know but yer, ive already noticed the spam coming up from that 8 hours bump rule

I think this may be difficult to implement as normal members have the same member settings, ie we cant post in report a scammer section. But by requesting what you want you have to somehow split normal members from posting on the thread and the OP, which is difficult and may take alot of effort to implement. But yeah, i have nothing wrong with it.

 

I support this, If the rules has changed then the message should change.

I believe that a single comment 8 hours after a new post would be a reasonable allowance to fit the amendment to the bumping rule.

There's no real need to bump your thread right after you post it, is there?

In my situation, timing is critical as I have a niche market that I can purchase from which leads to how I may require my thread being viewed at a particular time.

This may be relevant to other users too and if you can bump your thread after 8 hours it seems illogical to not have the same concept put in place for the second post on your thread.

But, I would like to see what other users have to say about this, as these changes are directed for the community and not a single user.

If Sythe admins made it, they had a reason.

 

This was before the bumping rule was updated... There's no 24 hours anywhere in the rules now, it is now 8.

 

It does need to be fixed. This particular issue is beyond my control but I'll make sure it gets sorted ASAP.
