Verified Paypal accounts

Is there any difference between a verified paypal account and a cc hooked up to it and is there any difference between a verified paypal with nothing hooked up to it.

reasons why there may or may not be differences please?

 

Well, with a Credit card being linked, once your balance hits $0 on PayPal, it will start to use your card. Similarly, if you have $10 and you're buying something thats $15, it'll use your balance and then $5 on your card.

This doesn't work if the purchase is in a foreign currency (that is, one that is NOT your paypal primary balance currency), it then has to either be fully on balance, or fully on card.

If you ever sell something here, keep in mind that people CAN call their card companies and have charges reversed if they paid through PayPal and a linked Credit Card. This is why many big sellers here want it to be a balance-funded PayPal.

When you add a credit card you raise your spending/withdrawal limit.
When you completely verify your account (add a bank account), you raise these limits even more.

Moreover, being verified has its owns advantages, some sellers accept only verified Paypal, there is a lower chance of you getting limited, and more.

I see your from Australia, You can register an online ANZ bank account and details will be sent to your address, these bank details can be used to Verify and un-limit your account.

You can also just buy a $25 pre paid Visa (make sure its a visa not a Master Card) Buying the Visa is just like having a CC on you PP account, but it does not "Un-Limit" your account any more.

Some things may have changed with PP as last time I done this was 3 Years ago when I was buying PS3 Games.
