In the near future I may be receiving ~250 Dollars via. Paypal for an account trade. Basically, I was wondering whether it would be possible, for my security, to accept the payment, transfer it to my bank account (takes 3 days), and then simply unhook my account from paypal (whether it be on the site or by calling my bank) and close the paypal account?

What are your thoughts on this?

Someone I know once received like 500$, blocked his credit card and closed his paypal account.

A few days later the payment was charged back, but he never paid for it even though paypal kept e-mailing him ofcourse.

After that, don't count on creating another paypal account though with the same ip adress or name or credit card or bank details.

I'm turning 18 in a couple weeks anyways and will be able to get a new bank account.

    It's just an idea.
(This 200 dollars or whatever is pretty seriously important to me)

Like I said it's worked for a friend of mine.

He counter-scammed someone who scammed his friend.
Then he removed his cc from paypal, closed pp account and blocked his cc.

He never ended up having to pay the money.

With Fake Details though they always follow through to where you sent the payment etc unless your not planning on taking it out to your bank, hope they dont file a dispute before you get the money,

Yes use fake details though. However, in all honesty if you're trading with someone that you expect might charge back you should probably just avoid it. It takes 3 days to move the money, but only a matter of minutes/hours for a dispute to be filed. If the money is that important, I'd urge you to wait for a buyer that you can trust..

If you have an unpaid debt to PayPal eventually it will just go to collections.

Risky if you have your real details on paypal, which i'm assuming you do since you linked your bank account.

For starters, paypal CAN and WILL unlock your account if you have a dispute. Happened to me. Did all that, and then after I closed my account a few days later they reopened it becuase of a dispute that occured. I had negative balance. And if it's a significant balance, they will send a collection agency to get you. :p
