Help With Ebay Item Dispute Please?

I have recently sold a PS3 controller on Ebay and the person has got back to me claiming the L2 button is broke and is defective, when it worked fine when I sent it. It was packaged really well too.

I don't have much experience of dealing with disputes so it would be of great help if someone could advise me.

I frankly don't have the money at the moment to refund the person and I would be out of pocket due to charges and Ebay invoices, would I win the case if I claimed it isn't faulty (which it wasn't when I sent it)?

Depends, if the item was sent 'recorded' and they'd signed for it on that basis, then it's their responsibility to check the item for defects before signing.
