I haven't made a thread on this yet, but besides playing video games and partying, Fitness & Nutrition is an addiction of mine, I like to help others with their fitness goals as well, as I'm only 19 years old, I'm not claiming to be amazingly ripped, but I'm well toned, and consider myself to be "strong."

Here's my "Fitness Profile" as of 1/1/12.

    Pre Workouts:
-Jack3d, Nothing else, although I must warn you, this stuff really, really, really gets you in the zone, however if you're sensetive to caffiene or things like that I wouldn't reccomend it, simply because your heart may beat too fast or something like that.

Supplements I take throughout the day/ After workouts:
-Whey Protien, It's easy to dissolve in almost any type of liquid & tastes great if you get the right flavor, my personal favorite is French Vanilla & I mix it w/ Milk.
-Peanut Butter, Excellent source of protien.
    -Tuna, Another excellent source.
-Omega 3 Oil Pills, I take these in the morning, they're EXTREMELY good for hair, nails, heart, and your stomach!

How Much / Often I lift.
-I lift everyday, in the morning I normally do a very light workout, as I know I'm going to go again at night, So in the morning (before school) or before noon.. I do the basic LEG workouts, I feel it gets your blood going for the day and helps with "Waking you up"
-Then for a second time during the afternoon, into nighttime. This is when I'm at my peak energy and when I'll go through my (Depending on my Regiment) do Upperbody, Lower, or Cardio.

My Max Weights I Can Lift.
My Max Bench is currently at: 285, It's not too much, but trust me a year ago I struggled putting up 200, so I feel it's a personal achievement.
My Max squat is... Well i'm actually not sure, the most I've ever attempted was 3 plates and a 35, which I was able to do about 5 times before I hit my point of failure.

    What Inspires me:
I seen this man with one arm, extremely ripped and I was like damn, he's dedicated to his personal health even with his disability, and it truly helped me since.

    Someone asked me:
Q: Can you still eat unhealthy and have good fitness?
A: The answer I gave them, was yes, because you can enjoy a huge meal, or a burger from a fast food place, as long as you work it off, i.e Running on a treadmill or going on the elyptical for an hour etc...

I made this thread to help anyone who has a question for me, or wants to talk about their fitness levels & goals, feel free to post or ask anything.

How much do supplements help with muscle building? I started lifting about a month ago (1st time ever), and I'm going 4-5 times a week now. Already seeing some improvement, but just curious as to how much supplements help.

    Thanks!

Can I ask why you classify "peanut butter" and "tuna" as actual "Supplements", To me supplements would be something in the form of a powder of capsule that's sole aim is to help improve athletic performance ( in that case, peanut butter and tuna's sole purpose is not that)

I am also somewhat like you, however only 17, and did a whole year on basically fitness nutrition, how the body works and how it works during exercise and such, and also very well informed about physical education.

Yes, you can eat unhealthy and be fit, however eating unhealthy will not let you get to your greatest potential, and a good diet is always better than a bad one, it is 80% of the cause, as diet is done 24/7.

As for your workout days, i'm intrigued that you're still doing upper body lower body splits, is your main purpose bodybuilding ( to build muscle) or to just be healthy cardiovascular wise? If so I highly recommend a 3-5 day split to target muscle groups more.

@ig They help a lot if you use them right, for example you cannot just drink a protien mix and expect it to work, but if you work out well, and drink it after, they will help you feel better the next day. Imo Idk where id be without them.

@inpherius, I work out to look good, my life goal is to become a nutrionist or a personal fintness instructor, so even while i do both some days, the difference is 100's of LBS.

@Already over, are you trolling? & As i said, you can mix it with whatever, i dont see how strawberry water is good?

Nice to see similar ppl here with same interests as me, I have been deeply inspired by Zyzz an Australian bodybuilder who transformed his body from 'stick' do aesthetic as phuck.

I am currently studying certificate 3&4 in fitness which leads so becoming a personal trainer, it's more of a pashion of mine than anything.

I been going gym 2-3 days a week for past 7 months, my current goals are cutting to 10% BF currently at 17%. as I am an mesomorph body type, so I have to eat less than 100g carbs a day which can get difficult at times

Can I also add to your points that foods that have strong sources of carbohydrates are sweet potatoes. They are highly recommended when eating in combination with protein sources such as meat or fish after a workout.
