Well, When I was 11 I was a little shit ( I'm 14 atm ) and think i've really matured in 3 years, I used to smoke weed, get drunk, get in trouble with the police, permently kicked out of several schools and now i have to get home schooled because no school will actually take me, My mum & my dad split up when I was 4 and it really affected me but I never let anyone know, Me and my brother are so close to each other, I used to be a little shit probably worse than your brother as the police were after me all the time, I have been locked up before and it's fucking horrible, I can remember what made me change, My brother beat the shit out of me and grounded me, No watching tele, No xbox, No laptop, nothing, no connection with friends, at this time i was out of school, if i hadn't done my school work they would add another week on to my grounding, I eventually got my act back together and now i'm expecting 3 a's and 4 b's in my upcoming GCSE's, My solution for this lad is just batter him, When i say batter, I mean not to give him black eyes ect, Just smack him in the stomach, the arm, or even the leg this worked for me.

 

Your brother needs help or else he'll end up being a criminal or something worse.

I'll have to agree, it must have something to do with your dad's absence too. But who knows what the real problem is, anyway? It's only up for you and your family to figure that out.

So he doesn't have a strong relationship with his family? And he just turns to the computer most of the time, and to other people? Then he probably got the mentality that material things are the ones he want, and it's great to hear that he still has friends too but he's not much aware of the fact that he needs your family help. No wonder the police keeps tell you to talk to him instead. Of course, if you'd just leave him somewhere else, like the mental hospital, he would probably think, "I'm SO normal. I mean, all I was asking for was this game anyway. Why do I have to go to the mental hospital? Does my family hate me that much? What did I do wrong? I was just asking for a game, like I usually do! What's wrong with everyone? why don't they support me?" Sorry if it's kinda confusing, but hopefully, you get my point. If you don't, just re-read everything I wrote here. I made sure the details needed are already provided. If he would just shoulder on his friends, it might take a lot of time before he matures and realizes the consequences of what he's doing in this real life.

So yes. The point is, while your mom was away, she just provided him a laptop to occupy his time, right? I know I'm not in the position to say this, and perhaps I'm not even right, but here's just my guess: the family relationship that should have been there between the family and your brother was replaced by the time he spends with the laptop instead. I'm not saying you should burn that laptop straight back to hell, but yeah, just spend more time with him. After all, you can't bring back all the knowledge your bro harnessed off the internet. It would be much wiser to just get him back to his feet. After all, who would do it for him?
