i have literally no life...wait...what i mean to say is that i stay on this game pratically every day for like atleast 3 hours a day. btw beware of team xavier. Auzze and craiglarkin, they can change names and ip addresses so theyre a pain

 

Sorry about the downtime, I didn't expect to sleep in so much, and I had to bring it down in order to complete a shit ton of downloads for my cousin's present.

 

SytheCraft, I love the name! Pretty simple but sounds perfect for Sythe.

 

I accidentally named it "SytheScape" and didn't even notice until Superman pointed it out lol

EDIT: Converting is using literally 100% of my double quad core CPU. Down until this file conversion finishes, it's a christmas present, and I have approximately 5 hours before it needs to be done and burned. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Very nice put together server. But even with your rule of No Flying, with exception of Moderators and Admins, players can still fly especially while unsupervised. I suggest getting a Bukkit Plugin called "NoCheat." What it does is detect if a user is flying and if they do fly it teleports them back to their previous spot prior to take off. Permissions are enabled so you can enable it for certian users and disable it for your Mods and Admins.

Permissions also include the permission node to message a mod or admin when a user tries to fly, so the mod can warn the user or teleport toward the user to supervise him better.

I'm Xaqa on your server. I was walking around and found many, many buildings that I actually liked. Your moderators, Ham & Cheese and the other (apologize, blanking on your name) were both quite helpful. The distance between cities would take a very long time while walking, instead of flying. The other problem was the distance and the time it took to get from city to city. I understand you have a railway, but users such as myself are unable to place minecarts and ride in them. That was my only problem (so far).

 

We grant creative mode on the server, hence the flying is present.
People are not using cheat mods AFAIK, since all they have to do is ask ATM

 

Noted. But I saw no where stating that one could ask for Creative mode and would be granted it.

 

Because, with griefing rampant, we're not giving it to everyone, nor are we advertising it's availability unless we deem a member able and willing to help the server.

Noam and Ham both found a clever test to ensure whoever joins the server isn't from Infinity or whatever they're called, but someone from sythe HAD to have advertised my server on a griefing dedicated website (as per what I was told by one of the griefers), so being from sythe doesn't mean you're automatically deemed legit.

 

I was told to say "I will not grief" and was immediately given Membership. I also said, "May I have creative" and again was given creative. This is not recommended while trying to maintain greifing.

 

That was before we devised a basic test to protect against major greifing clients. Now we give out the test instead.
Also, moh can you set it so that the creative / survival saves from the last logoff because a mod has to be on 24/7 to give people creative otherwise.

 

Yeah I'll look into it, I think it has something to do with MultiVerse, probably just have to change an option in the config.yml stuff
