Over 3 years of trading over the years I finally came up with a percentage of scammers on 17 differen't fourms from the last 3 years.

I've been through 450 trades. Only 79 of those trades were not scamful.
Those 79 trades were for 2 of 12 RUNESCAPE ACCOUNTS, Runescape Pins, and Gold.

Leaves me to my suggestion...
Pay a Legit site, not some random guy on here to level your shit..
Dont waste your time!~!

Thats 82+ people for each 100 people who is regiested on a fourm.

That leaves 49,329 Sythe accounts used for good trades or just to talk.

Also leaves 229,367 Sythe accounts used for scams.

I know this is a warning to everyone and everyone should be aware of this but there are ways to get around this like using WU instead of PP and only trading with trusted people...the thing you arnt including is yes, there are alot of accounts that scam but also at the same time 70%+ of goods go through these very trusted people who never scam?

And you also have to consider how many accounts are made by 1 person and how many times they scam just using different accounts...interesting info though i guess but still its not really that correct to say that 82 people out of 100 scam where those 82 scams are actually just 10-20 people...

 

Does that include duplicates? (accounts made by the same person to evade bans)
Or is it out of 100 different individuals making accounts.

 

That's a good percentage for people who have no idea how to trade. I'm pretty sure if you traded smartly and used an MM, that would go down.

First of all your sample is not big enough for a market this size. You obviously don't know how to trade properly if you've been scammed 82% of the time, I suggest using a MM, only trusting trusted users and requesting PM's. If you ask any of the big traders you'll find they get scammed a lot less due to procedures and steps they follow to avoid being scammed.

 

You'd have to be an idiot to get scammed 82.3% of the time. Trade carefully.

 

These are very interesting statistics, but it boggles my mind how out of 450 trades you were able to get scammed 371 times... no offence, but you must either be a complete idiot, or just extremely unlucky.

I do believe that being scammed is sometimes unavoidable, and anybody can easily make the mistake of falling for a scam, or an impostor etc. But sites like Sythe work on a vouch and community based trust system for a reason, and there are reasons behind simple trading rules such as ALWAYS REQUEST A PM, or using a MM or OMM for serious and/or large trades!

I have had a few 'close encounters' with scammers where I could very easily have been ripped off, but by simply requesting PM's or verifying e-mail addresses closely before sending money, using an MM etc, has saved me from ever getting scammed. It honestly seems so easy to NOT get scammed, if you take the necessary precautions, and seek out the honest, legit, and widely trusted traders. These traders have good reputations for a reason.

I'm one of those 49329 people But what can you expect when probably 95% of people that come on sythe are below the age of 18.
Also this should be in community or general, not here

 

I agree because almost all my deals end up in the other logging off.
Been scammed once, but for shit idc about.

 

I just want to note about the sites that u said and paying them to level ur skills. Have you had the Privilege of using them and not gotten scammed? If you read the reviews of the 3-4 major sites(chinese one's that is), you would put that much trust in them bro U can only be safe when the other person 1. cant scam u, 2. isnt worth it for him, 3. he has morals, 4. would be more worth it for him to stay legit. It's just my 5cents on the subject, I am sorry if i offended you or if you dont agree completely

 

I wouldn't say that sample size could speak for all 200k+ members, but sure.

Trade safely

 

Trade safely use a very trusted MM. And trade trusted members only.

 

The only time I've ever gotten scammed was from buying 2 accounts and having them be recovered (even used an OMM for one of them)

So, being scammed is all about how you trade...Common sense makes it easier not to be scammed.

 

No offence bro but you must be kind of an idiot for getting scammed 82.3% of the time >.< i have been scammed 3 times in 40 or so trades so thats less then %10 and since my 15th vouch i haven't been scammed...

 

There are always safeguards against scamming which can significantly decrease the likelihood of being scammed, however that's still a very large percentage of scammers.

It might've been the amount of people that have tried to scam him.

 

The population you used wasn't near large enough for you too make a conclusion about anything. You also have no way to weed out repeat offenders, or to see if a safeguard was used (MM), or if you were trading smart.. at all.

If you've been scammed 371 times, your stupid. Simple as that. It's not hard to trade with intelligence.

99% of my trades are successful and scam free(including no paypal chargebacks). We're very close to 0% chargebacks on Sythe Paypal donations. Far from the truth...

 

People are far too careless, people go first to people who have few vouches, dont even check to see if they're fake. People do paypal trades and dont do increments. People don't use OMM's.

The majority of scamming could be stopped if people would just trade with highly trusted users, or at least use an MM/OMM when trading with not-so trusted.
