Not sure if this should be in the price checks section?

If you had absolutely no budget and were going to build a computer, what is the most you could spend? And before you ask, no I don't have an unlimited budget. :p

    No budget, you say?

Add onto that a $2,000-$3,000 desk/chair combo, a $2,000-$3,000 water cooling setup, and all the little things that go into making a build look good (cathodes, cable management hardware, etc)

Of course this would only EVER happen if I like won the lottery or something crazy like that.

edit: there's probably a few grand in other assorted things I'm missing too like capture card, racing wheel/chair setup, joystick/flight control setup, etc.

If money was no object, I see no reason why not to get a huge capacity one :p

I dunno personally, I've never used that mousepad. I've heard good things about it though.

Ivy is close, but if you were gonna get a rig that expensive, better sound systems(ie. no logi speakers xD).

You won't be getting a quad SLi loop in the 800d either aha, I've seen a tri-sli loop, but that was a modded 800d to fit a 120x4 in the top, and then another hanging off the back.
    You'd want something more like this;
    http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-m10-case/

Saw a buildlog on OCAU using the same case(or the M8 I can't find the build log anymore) and it looked amazing.

Yes I know we're just throwing around expensive build ideas, :p.

I'm more than sure a 4-way SLI (quad SLI is when you have 2x dual GPU cards) loop can be done in an 800D, although it will be very hard.

That case is massive, I'd much rather have a TJ11 or something which can easily handle 4-way SLI but I put the build together in about 5 mins on Newegg haha, didn't have time to go all super specific.

quad/4way who cares you know what i mean.

internally it can't without modding the case. not enough raddage can fit.

    and it is, watercoolers dream.

Honestly, $2000 will play anything. I think it would be stupid to spend more than $2500 on a pc. Ivy's build is nice if you have no budget. There may still be some of the Asus MARS II cards left that you could toss in since cost is no issue.

4x 580s will beat 2x MARS II though, so its kinda pointless unless all you're trying to do is increase costs haha.

Spend max 1500$ and you'll get a decent rig which will last you 4 years of gaming. After that you can either do upgrades or replace CPU.

Thought that was the point? and who said stop at 2?

Anyway, You could just wait for EVGA's dual 2011 socket board to come out and kick the price up another $1600 for a second cpu.
