Prices in buying and selling threads [Gold exchange]

I think people should state their buying and selling prices for Rsgp solely in the thread itself and not in the title.

The reason for this is that the prices change constantly and it creates false advertising indeliberately.

I have come across many threads recently where let's say the thread title says they're selling gp for 0,45/m and the thread itself says from 0,75/m for example.

Seeing as a user can't change the thread title themselves, and it's alot of work for both; -moderators and the users themselves- to ask for the thread title changes.

You can just report other people's posts with a wrong/misleading title and mods will fix it. I believe this is more the exception than the rule anyway, and it would be awfully tedious to click open every single thread to see the price that people are buying/selling for

Like I said it's basically fale advertising.

I think the buyer / seller should be responsible for their own thread title, and that I don't have to go around reporting 100 threads for false advertising.

They also won't learn from it because they don't get an infraction.
And it lures more customers into their thread if their prices are low in the title.

Well ok but if people see the price isn't what they want to pay, then they leave. It's gonna be a lot more inconvenient for people to open all the threads checking prices than it is for people to open a few threads and see that the price is wrong.

You certainly don't have to report the threads but it's an option and it gets the job done

Yeah I also understand the part you're saying about it being more work having to open a thread to see the actual current prices.

But you basically already have to do that, since every thread title is outdated with prices as they change constantly.

The majority of time prices don't fluctuate as much as they have recently. When prices go up the titles can just be changed. I think it's more annoying for users to have to load every thread to see a price than for the price in the tittle to occasionally be wrong (and if they report it, it'll be fixed)

Yeah that's true, on the other hand if I really went ahead and reported every thread now with wrong price in title, it would not only be alot of work for me but also for moderators to handle the reports.

One moderator would do it all in like 20 minutes, really not that big a deal. I don't think it's a lot of work to report the thread when you happen to see it, and if a few people do that it's taken care of.

But there's no urgency to it. So maybe it takes a week for them to all get reported and changed. I'd rather that than ban prices from titles.

I certainly feel that there is some issue with this. As prices go up and people choose not to edit their thread title or ask a moderator to do it, which leads to an unfair advantage with people advertising .50/m when they're really selling .75+.

I just took my prices out of my thread title, but as video said, I'm sure if people don't see the price they saw, they'll back out and search another.

I agree that this is evident in the RS market today, also users quote [From 0.XX/mill] on their thread titles as well as the thread. This most likely causes confusion between buyers as they see a low price specified on the thread and after they contact the seller that 'low' price is only for orders over 1b or so on.

It would be more convenient if users were forced to indicate their prices for a set amount of gold on their thread making it for users to choose between sellers..

    example:

    1-10m - 0.8
    11-50m - 0.75
    51-100m - 0.70
    101-500m - 0.65
    500m+ - 0.63

and so on. Would make life extremely easy.

Guys.. it literally takes three seconds to look over a persons post and notice that the prices are different, then leave.
This isn't that big of a deal.

Not when the prices state [From 0.xx] .. ive seen a few threads which include content like that.. that means you have to go into the long process of adding the person, waiting for them to come online, find out what the real price is obviously, then continuing.

Life would be much simpler for everyone if the prices where just set on the thread.

I completely agree with this. I think that mods can PM people who have prices on their threads, asking if they prefer the prices removed or changed. If no response in 48hrs, removed

It's not a big enough deal to ban prices from titles.
